If I could give 0 stars, I would. I had a horrible experience with the Manager, Cathy, on 6/14/23. I had purchased some items the evening before, on 6/13, and when I came in to do a return, I was appalled by how inappropriate, unprofessional and disrespectful she was during my return interaction. While returning two items, which both had tags on them, and had a portion of my receipt (my receipt was torn but still had the barcode at the bottom), she immediately said no, she could not return my items due to the receipt being torn, shaking her head vigorously, while making “ugh” “tsk” noises and sounding exasperated by helping me. Being a multi-unit retail manager myself, I asked the cashier if she could locate my receipt in her system, I had the date/time/register/and total amount and know this is something that can be done. I’m not sure why Cathy didn’t try to perform her job, which is directly responsible for customer service, but thankfully the cashier at a different register did, in fact, find my transaction and reprint the receipt for me. As I took my receipt to Cathy to do the return, she performed the return while rolling her eyes and making noises displaying not only her reluctance to conducting the return but her disgust with helping me. I told her that this was a horrible experience, I felt so uncomfortable due to her attitude, and rather than try to be helpful, she said “it would have been easier if you had the whole receipt.” It would have been easier if she had been polite, professional, and truly sincere with helping me rather than making huffing and puffing noises with an attitude. I explained that while I was checking out the evening prior, the cashier informed me when I was making my purchase that I could return items as long as “the tags are still on and it’s not a blue tag, those sales are discounted and final” and did not say anything about not having a return receipt. Cathy then asked if I would be shopping or leaving, I said leaving, as I did not want to be in her company any longer. I will now go out of my way to shop elsewhere, and will donate any items only to Salvation Army. I have donated many, many times and I am not willing to support a store with management staff who act in an unacceptable way. GOODWILL, if your management team does not have customer service skills, do not want to work, and does not enjoy helping people, they should not be in a...
Read moreI shop here often and don’t appreciate the experience I had today.
I had 3 items, one of which was a toy for $2.49. The woman at the register asked why there was another tag under the $2.49 in a tone that seemed to insinuate I changed the price. I didn’t even notice the tag and said I don’t know but if it’s not that price, I’ll pass on it. She took a while to lift the tag just to find it was the original tag from the retailer. Unnecessarily dramatic in my opinion and made me feel like I was a thief.
As she continued to scan my other items, she told me to bring the cart back from outside since they didn’t have any. How about asking nicely rather than talking to people like they’re stupid? I had a baby with me by the way and I always bring the cart back.
At this point I was biting my tongue. She told me the total and asked me if I wanted to round up. I said NO curtly due to my frustration and she had the audacity to say “No, thank you.” That’s when I lost my patience and called her out. She tried to play it off as “We have to ask.” She knew damn well what she was doing with her attitude.
That being said, I know a portion of the funds go to programs. But let’s be real, you get this stuff for FREE. Some prices are fair but most of the time items are overpriced or close to retail price. My husband and I have been to Goodwills all over, including out of state. The stores in the Austin area aren’t true thrift stores anymore.
I gave this store 3 stars because I do occasionally find things I need at a fair price. This is the first time I ever had an issue with a member of the staff at this location. Do better… or maybe I’ll do a Twitter/TikTok...
Read moreHorrible didn't even shop here! Just dropping stuff off and the experience was awful every time. Keep in mind that I'm dropping stuff off that they are making profit off of. I understand that they do not want people dropping off after hours I totally understand that because I'm sure people have dropped trash off. However that's not my complaint there were several cars probably like six ahead of me there was a truck that was blocking off the drop off line, they were shopping to my understanding instead of dropping off. Making it unsafe hazardous and a potential liability. I talked to a woman by the name of Kathy however she went back and said that, that was not her name. Well I tried to explain the situation to Kathy or whatever her name was I felt very dismissed and she kept interrupting me and her tone was very aggressive towards me and she was very defensive however she did send some of her employees out to help however as a manager she should have asked the gentleman who was blocking to move. Finally I asked the gentleman to move I explained to him that I have a husband and kids to get to and that if he wants to shop to not Park in the donation line. To whomever was the manager that day you're welcome I did your...
