Chili's Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Lafayette

The only word I can use to describe our experience at this Chili's Grill & Bar is comical. My family was literally laughing in amazement at the horrible experience we had. First, we waited at least 20 minutes before our drink order was taken. We were thinking that they may have forgotten about us. At this point, we should've left, but we were hungry! Our waitress finally appeared, and she took our drink order as well as our order for appetizers. We waited at least 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive. My son ordered chocolate milk. When he received it, it contained ice (which was a first), and the chocolate syrup had not been mixed into the milk. At this point, I should mention that we had not been provided with any napkins or utensils, so we had nothing to stir the milk with. It was at least another 15 minutes before our waitress appeared again. She asked us if everything was okay, and I informed her that we were still waiting for our appetizers. My husband asked for a refill on his Coke, but he would need to ask at least five more times before that would actually happen. Our waitress asked me what we had ordered, so I reminded her. In the mean time, the manager walked by, so I stopped her and requested a new chocolate milk for my son. Unfortunately, the ice was not working for him. I should probably mention that we also did not receive any straws with our beverages, so the ice was an obstacle when he would try to take a drink. The appetizers finally began to arrive about ten minutes later. I ordered the dip trio, so we should have received three smaller servings of guacamole, beef queso, and salsa. Instead, we received three full sized servings of each dip, and a huge tray of chips. I also ordered mozzarella sticks, but we were told that these had accidently been delivered to another table, so they had to remake them. We waited at least another 15 minutes for this appetizer, and our waitress then asked us if we had ordered entrees. When we said we hadn't, she asked us if we wanted to. Of course we wanted to, we just hadn't seen her! We placed our order and we enjoyed our appetizers without any plates, utensils, or napkins. I finally got up and retrieved these items from the server's station myself. A bus boy saw me collecting the items, and instead of offering to help, he simply told me to take what I needed. After about an hour, maybe longer, our food finally began to arrive. All of the food was excessively salty! My husband ordered broccoli, but he received fries instead. At this point, we were eating whatever they placed in front of us because we were starving! He ordered his steak medium rare, and it came well done. Something happened to my son's chicken sandwich, so they had to make it again. He did not receive it until well after the rest of us had finished eating! My corn on the cob had the texture of mush. It was probably sitting somewhere with a lot of moisture for a LONG time! My son was thirsty and we hadn't seen our waitress, so I walked up to the empty bar and asked for a glass of water. After sitting in the restaurant for TWO hours, we simply paid our bill and left! We didn't want to discuss our experience with anyone, we wanted to leave! Needless to say, we will never be returning to this location. We were sharing looks of sympathy with the diners at the other tables who were also having a horrible experience. The table behind us received their food a little at a time. Their corn would come, then a few minutes later their sausage would come, and then a few minutes later their fries arrived. It was awful! Another couple also obtained their own napkins and utensils from the server's station. Their entrees arrived before their appetizers, and they had to remind the waitress that they had even ordered appetizers! It was a mess! Our waitress was kind, but she was in way over her head! 3 of 5 stars and here's why! We called ahead and alerted of a party of 8 or more was coming, and 'no reservation needed' was our response so we showed up with 10. There was only a small wait as they prepared our tables, so that was convenient for such a large group. So let's start with: SERVICE-To tackle a party of 7 or more, there should have been a 2nd server, one for drink orders and one for appetizers, IMO, so even though we were prepared with our drink orders, our server wasn't as familiar with yalls menu, to capture our drinks before we already knew what aps so we waited an odd amount of time for the drinks. Server took our ap orders when we alerted them that our 2 children's drinks were forgotten, so waiting for the servers return, once it's been another 10 minutes we stopped a 2nd waitress and she got our children's drinks within 2 minutes, (we meant to tip her separate). Original server only arrived to bring the appetizers. Seeing the mistake was handled, did pep his step up the rest of our meal. No onto: FOOD-we order nearly every appetizer so we figured there was a system to its arrival, we was wrong, they was able to get everything about the same time so we quickly made placement then dove in. Only miss and was the focal point of our arrival, the tiktok famous CheesePull. They got all the pull, if they are fresh and fresh meaning to the table within 2 minutes of leaving the fryer, so note to self when ordering all the sauced cheese sticks, is the temperature to table timing. Our Nashville ones were perfect as seen in the video and photos, but the Chipotle honey soaked were cold. We ordered steaks, smash burgers, chicken crisper, triple dippers, Cajun pastas Mac n cheeses, sliders, and southern wraps and we only had 2 complaints 1-the Cajun Alfredo was oversauced and not personal preference, it was soup. 2-was the mac n cheese, we got 2 servings, both noodles over cooked so with the amount of cheese the wasn't any texture which thru the dish off. So focal point being possible missed pasta practices or just simple timing. Atmosphere-we came a peak time for dinner, and was seated immediately. The background noise must have been at the perfect decibel along with the customer spacing because we had to comments during conversation with noticing how well we could hear eachother. 05/25/24 - Chili's hasn't been on my radar for years. It was the 3 for Me commercial that drew me.

I usually get a meal after a flight in Indy but it was a holiday weekend, so we came here, Chili's.

About the 3 for Me deal, you may think you're getting a lot of meals to choose from but that's not it. There are three or four meals at $10.99 the other meals cost more.

Kobe was our server and he made for a great experience. He's the reason for the 5 🌟 rating. He was friendly but more importantly he was accurate with our order, drinks and meal.

He took the time to answer questions and make recommendations. When I asked for Cherry Coke he offered to make it out of grenadine 😋

I ordered the Smasher Burger. It's a big size patty and a few toppings. I liked me meal. The fries were a lot more crispy than I liked, maybe a bit burnt but I was starving 😁

My wife ordered the Chicken Quesadilla plate. She was happy with her portion and it's sides. All fresh.

We both ordered the same appetizer and wondered if we would get one. No, we each got our own. Like I said, I was starving after my flight 😁

I always remember the chips to be warm with a little salt. Still the same. I make salsa every Sunday and theirs is good. I enjoyed snacking and even dipped my crunchy fries in it.

Our 4yr old was with us. Kobe talked to her like she was older and took her order. Our daughter is taught to read or understand the menu and place her own order.

Our daughter enjoyed the menu page with the games and coloring while she waited for her meal.

When the couple behind us had an issue with their meal, Kobe took over and helped them. The couple was not rude or going out of their way to get a free item. Kobe made them feel welcome and worked it out.

Like I said, Kobe was excellent with his customer service. I will return here next time and...
