The Rooftop Bar is finally here in Oceanside, Ca. Located within the Mission Pacific Hotel resort, this bar literally has the BEST ocean view of the Oceanside Pier and the Pacific Coastline in the entire city. Period.
Opened in May 2021, the Rooftop Bar is located atop the Mission Pacific Hotel and serves, not only resort guests, but also the local community of Oceanside, Ca. To visit, simply park within the surrounding area and enter the MPH resort and take the elevators to the 6th floor.
Entrance to the restaurant area is free and although they do take Walk-Ins, I HIGHLY recommend making Reservations Ahead of Time before dining-in. They are still new and it is prone to get crowded. FAST!
Although you do not have to enter the restaurant in order to enjoy the glorious views, please keep in mind that the dining area is separate from the viewing area and to be mindful of the customers while partaking in the breathtaking sights.
The Rooftop Bar is open-air dining concept and although there are heated areas to enjoy, please consider bringing a sweater or scarf, as it does get a chilled ocean-breeze during sunset. The decor is cozy, luxurious and relaxing.
Speaking of sunset, make sure you have extra storage in your camera or phone, because sunsets up here are a once-in-a-lifetime experience. They will, literally, take your breath away!
As for the dining experience, there’s a simple menu consisting of tacos, avo toast, ceviche, bbq meatballs and other handheld goodies. They also have a nice variety of salads with lobster, scallops & salmon options. PLEASE NOTE: Prices range from $11-22
The Rooftop Bar has a full arrangement of drinks from specialty whiskey to tequilas and then some. The drinks will be on the high end. But please remember, when enjoying this dining experience, you are paying for the ambiance, the view and then the food.
My service was very well catered to and I enjoyed it; but I understand this may not be everyone’s experience. They are still New and are learning on-the-fly as they teach their staff and crew the ropes.
Overall, the Rooftop Bar is a fantastic addition to the Mission Pacific Hotel Resort and they are indeed a valuable assets to the tourism industry here in Oceanside. Their Live! Music is spectacular and they even host art events with a local art studio!
For locals, come here to enjoy that special occasion, anniversary or party. It definitely makes for an impressive dinner date. Remember, the prices are not conducive to local patronage and not sustainable to a locals finances. A dinner date for two can easily run up to $100, but it will be an impressive date worth having nonetheless. The epic views here are the linchpin to their success and remember that this is situated within a 5-star luxury resort.

Read moreThey have beautiful views but it's not worth it because they are overpriced and take advantage of their customers.
To start, parking cost $49 just to go upstairs to the rooftop lounge for a short time. We ordered Martini's and they were out of Martini glasses and so they put the drinks in a small regular glass but the amount of liquid in the glass was very small. I've never seen such a small amount for a martini and they charged us $17 each. Later when we ordered a second martini it came in a regular martini glass and the amount of liquid was great so they totally took advantage of us with that first drink.
We also ordered chips and guacamole that cost $16 and they gave us a very small amount of chips. Since we wanted salsa which is pretty common with chips, they charged an extra $1.50. The amount of chips they gave us was VERY small, I was actually shocked at how small and thought maybe they made a mistake. When we asked for more chips, they brought them but charged us an extra $4.
There were four of us and we had reservations but they sat us at a table and space that was small and we all kept kicking each other. It was really meant for 3 people max. We asked to move a larger table that was available and perfect for four people but they said no. We tried to change their mind but they continued to say no. That table we wanted sat empty for over an hour and then they sat two people at that larger space while we suffered in our very small space.
Then they added a 4% surcharge to the bill; no idea why and we didn't see anything posted that they'd be charging it. And they automatically added a 20% tip for the server. That wasn't as big a deal for us because we would have tipped at least 20% because the server was great, but I've never seen a restaurant add that on a party of four; usually it's only for large parties. Tipping should be up to the customer based on the service; they should never add a 20% tip automatically unless it's a large party.
All four of us decided we would never go back because there were so many ways they took...

If you're in Laguna Beach and haven’t been to The Rooftop Lounge at La Casa Del Camino, let me save you the regret—go. Right. Now. This place is nothing short of spectacular, and here's why:
From the moment we stepped onto that rooftop, the views of the sparkling Pacific Ocean had us mesmerized. Add to that an inviting ambience and friendly locals who clearly know their hotspots—well, it’s a vibe.
We started our afternoon with a glass of wine, soaking in the sunshine and ocean breeze, and the service was impeccable from the get-go. And here’s a cool touch: Jim Hall, the Director of Operations, was making his rounds to check on guests. Talk about next-level care! Jim, you’re a legend.
Now, let’s talk food. I went for the Double Smash Burger, and let me tell you, it’s not just a burger—it’s a masterpiece. Juicy, flavorful, and honestly one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. My wife went for the Hangover Helper Breakfast Burrito, and she was in pure foodie heaven. It’s no surprise the locals flock here—this spot has it all.
The Rooftop Lounge nailed it on every level: food, drinks, service, and views that will take your breath away. Whether you're a local or just passing through, make this your next stop. Trust me, you’ll thank me later. 🍹🌅🍔
10/10—can’t wait...
