Chantilly Ice Cream Laguna Beach — Restaurant in Laguna Beach

First of all the ice cream is amazing! So if that’s all your looking for then it’s the right place. Other than that it went pretty downhill. It’s a nice place and all but the service does not match the atmosphere. last Wednesday we came in to a pretty empty ice cream shop and were waiting to be served. Other than a “hello” from the workers we felt like we were being ignored. The lady who was serving us was having a conversation with her coworker in what I assume was Russian or maybe French. As a fellow business owner in Vegas I would not tolerate this kind of disrespect towards a customer. I always believe that you should show full attention towards a customer atleast when they’re ordering. After I excused their conversation the lady finally served me and my wife. As we were leaving the two workers said something in their language and laughed. Not sure if it was an insult about us but it still didn’t feel right. So once again 10/10 ice cream but 1/10 service. Overpriced so-so ice cream, unfriendly employee, cash only

The gelato shop on Ramona Ave was so crowded so I switched to this ice cream shop, and then I knew why people go to the other one: It is pricy. I spent $10 to get double scoops with a waffle cone, and it tasted just okay but not priceworthy. I would rather go to target buy some Haagen Dazs ice creams. They only take cash. You got a great location to get customers, and if you can take electronic payment, that will make everyone’s life easier. I went there around 5:30 pm yesterday, and there was a female employee serving me who looked reluctant to work or serve me. When I asked the second sample to try, she looked so angry and like “you dare to ask one more sample?” She gave so little as if she was giving alms. I am grateful to the employees of this shop. I did not read the reviews and had no idea this was a cash only establishment. My daughter who is 9 really wanted ice cream and so we stopped in. Employees were nice and helpful. After the ice cream was scooped I walked to the register to pay for her ice cream and saw the cash only sign. My heart dropped. The employee mentioned the ATM machine and I tried it several times with my debit card in my Apple Wallet, but was declined it both times I tried. I have money in that account so I don't know why it didn't work. I expected the employee to just put the ice cream back, but I guess they can give a free scoop a day and they gave it to my daughter.
