This Review represents my personal experience while i was at this place :

( who ever gave this place 5 stars , probably never had decent Mediterranean food before )

I gave this place 2 stars :

*1 star for the location *1 Star For the just OKAY food , nothing too delicious.

I took 3 stars off because :

They only accept cash which is very inconvenient and very cheap to say the least since this is a fast food ,quick-bite place , you cant always expect your customers to have cash on them especially the beach visitors!!, so ofcourse like any other place that only accepts cash the have an ATM which chargers you only 1$ to withdraw cash !

I dislike businesses where you feel that the owners' aim is just to get more money out of you , and that's how i felt with their cash only payment method , they don't even have a sign that says CASH ONLY , but when you are about to pay , the cashier would tell you that they only accept cash , and if you dont have cash , you would ask where to get cash ? So the cashier would point at an ATM that is innocently placed to your right 🤦🏻‍♂️.

They also have a sign that says : Taking pictures isn't allowed !! 🤦🏻‍♂️ and i didnt see that sign , so while i was taking a picture , the cashier told me i cant take pics because the " boss" said so ! I mean what fast food restaurant on earth doesnt let you take pics ? Who also doesnt want some publicity? Probably someone who has no idea how to run a business and doesnt care about their customers , they dont even respond to their...

The Adonis Restaurant is a Taste of Mediterranean Paradise in Laguna Beach

From the moment you step up to Adonis Restaurant, you're transported to the sun-soaked shores of the Mediterranean. This Laguna Beach gem offers an authentic dining experience that stands out even in this foodie-rich coastal town.

I especially want to mention the kind nature of the gentleman working behind the counter. This is a CASH ONLY restaurant and when I wasn’t sure if I had cash on me (after already ordering), he said “don’t worry about it, brother if you don’t have it, you can pay next time“. This is the small time vibe that I’ve grown to love and Laguna.

The star of the menu is undoubtedly their beef lamb gyro. Perfectly seasoned meat, tender and juicy, wrapped in warm, fresh pita with just the right balance of tzatziki, crisp vegetables, and herbs. Each bite delivers an explosion of flavor that kept me coming back for more.

The atmosphere strikes that delicate balance between casual and upscale, making it perfect for both special occasions and impromptu lunch visits. Service is attentive without being intrusive, and the staff's knowledge of the menu demonstrates a genuine passion for the cuisine.

Don't miss their house-made baklava for dessert – the perfect sweet ending to a memorable meal. Adonis has secured its place as my go-to Mediterranean, quick-bite in Orange County. Whether you're a local or just passing through Laguna Beach, this is a dining experience not to be...

Absolutely love this place. For just $5, you can get a hefty box of scorching hot, crispy, fresh fries, and the tzaziki (garlic yogurt sauce) for dipping is INSANELY GOOD. I cannot stress enough how perfect that sauce is, especially with the fries. If you've never tried it, please do. Ketchup is so lame after trying that. The wraps are also all delicious, made fresh right in front of you (you can ask to withhold some ingredients or put more of others if you want while it's being made) and neatly packaged. Every time I go, which is whenever I can, it's the same person behind the counter and while I'm not sure he recognizes me, it always makes me feel warm and happy seeing that familar, extremely friendly face. The place does accept cash only though!! There's an ATM in the shop but better to come prepared. It's about 30-45 mins away from my home, but boy is it worth it. I hope this place never closes. I don't have pics because I'm always to excited to dig in and forget to take them, but will try to remember next time I...

Prices were around $15-$25 rather than $10-$20, which is definitely pricey for what one gets. The food was good, HOWEVER, and here is the big but, I was literally robbed when paying. The charge was 24 and change and i paid 25. I assumed I would get back my change (around 90cents or so). Instead the guy proceeds and puts it just in the tip box and walks away without looking at me, without saying thank you for the purchase. Fyi this place has no dine-in. I just tried to make eye contact with him but was flabbergasted. This was extremely shady to me, rude, and disrespectful. Plus this place is only cash (there is an ATM with $1 withdrawal fee), so if they already rob me like that I can only imagine what they do with the cash only setup in terms of irs tax reporting... Extremely shady place and i am very disappointed by this even though the food was good :/

Visiting from the east coast & my husband and I love a good gyro. This was the BEST meal we ate our whole time here (yes, there’s many other good food spots, but the gyro and fries were *chef’s kiss*) the tzatziki sauce was homemade, the gyro meat was cooking on spits behind the counter & they made the sandwich in front of you. Fries were just the right amount of crisp and salty and piping hot. I’m getting hungry again just thinking about it! *important to note that it’s cash only - but they have an ATM ($1 surcharge) also should mention that the seating area is small, but we had no issues finding a spot to eat. Staff was friendly and service was prompt! Would 100% recommend!!
