This has been by far, the worst experience I’ve ever had in a restaurant. I have never ever had to ask for a manager to complain about the bad service and this definetely had to be the occasion. I came Into this place with 3 other adults and 6 kids at roughly 4:15pm. We were helped by a waitress(did not catch the name) and she was nice overall. She took our drinks order and food order, everything was ok to that point. After an HOUR sitting there, at 5:15 we asked how much longer for the order. She went and asked and she said 10 more minutes. Well, almost 20 minutes passed and our food (burgers and gyros) was not there yet. Our kids kept saying they were hungry and started getting really crabby. We got really upset and decided to get up and leave. We told the waitress we would just pay for our drinks and appetizer because we couldn’t wait any longer. Come to find out they hadn’t even started making our food. She checked us out and still had the nerve to charge us a $5 tip, arguing that the system “automatically” did that with 6 or more guests. I asked for a manager and explained the whole situation and instead of getting an apology and making things right, he starts getting in a defensive attitude. I told him about the tip and he repeated the same thing “ the system does it automatically”. He also said that because of the time of day it was busier than usual ( not very busy, place half empty and he was having lunch when I approached him). I told him “ so how do you explain that all the people that came in after us got their orders first?” I said to him “had I known it was gonna take that long for Burgers and fries I would have went to McDonald’s instead and get out of there quicker”. He had the audacity to say that it would have taken just as long there. Since i felt it was worthless speaking to him I turned around and started to walk out. He said in a sarcastic tone “ have a nice day”, might as well have said “get the hell out of here”. I am not the type of person who sits there and writes reviews on every place I visit, whether good or bad but I had to write one on this place and seeing how it has an average of 2 stars now I understand I am not the only one with a problem. This place does not deserve to have a spot in a nice place like lake Geneva, especially right across the beach. This place needs to shut down and let another restaurant come in its place, one that appreciates its customers and is worthy of being in that area. Read morePerfect location across from the lake & Riviera cruise. Nice, full service, sidewalk seating with umbrellas available, but it was too humid for us to enjoy it. Inside is somewhat narrow & too crowded with 6-seat high top tables between the bar and low-top tables lining the window side. We sat near the door at a low-top but promptly moved after discovering that the leaking ceiling was dripping on me. You'd think that a member of the staff might have warned us, or, put a sign on the table, "reserved" would have kept people away without admitting a repair was needed. Our waitress had no clue about the menu, needing to "go ask" when we posed any question. Fyi, the Walleye is not local (surprising, when you're lakeside) & the Wisconsin brat, she said, Johnsonville or maybe she meant it was LIKE Johnsonville, not smoked, which were the examples I gave when I asked which type of sausage to which it might be compared. The good came out quickly & very hot. The Walleye on the sandwich was, as described on the menu, "Good fish on bread." It's a big piece of fish with yummy, puffy, crunchy beer battter. Sadly, the tarter sauce came in a McDonald's type ranch dressing cup making this sandwich mediocre, at best. IMO, a change to fresh, local Walleye & homemade sauce could easily transform this sandwich into a signature dish. The Brat was really good. The onions & kraut that come on top are pre-mixed and grilled on the flat top to tender crisp. I ordered it on the side thinking the kraut might be a little soggy. I put all of it on top after being pleasantly surprised by it's tasty, somewhat smokey, flavor. Added yellow mustard and, YUM! So good! Our waitress was attentive enough for us and, overall, it was a decent meal. That said, it could be so much better with a few menu improvements, removing a couple of tables to provide space for patrons & staff to more easily walk through, and wait staff training. In all fairness, the ceiling leak might have been new given the area was hit with a huge thunderstorm & a downpour receiving 3" of rain in just a couple of hours the night before we were there. BTW, the owner & another man who may have been a supplier happened to sit at a table next to us. We overheard the owner placing his food order, being offered higher quality items but turning them down, e.g., for steaks. Read moreThe absolute worse experience I’ve ever been through! We asked for calamari as an appetizer and received fish sticks after our Main course came out. Our main courses were worse than concession stand food without the proper condiments - we had no silverware no napkins and horrible customer service. The owner came out and harassed me because I did not like the fish sticks and yelled at me for not liking the fish sticks that were $13 and claimed to be calamari. Screaming that he sold 40 pounds of this calamari today , how could I not like the calamari , did I like any of the food or just complain about everything - As he’s doing this in front of many customers and people walking by he continued to scream at me, and after I left he followed me as he tried to call the cops saying I didn’t pay when my card was on the table and my boyfriend was taking care of it, I had to walk away because I have a five month old and was not going to let anyone treat me that way especially with my daughter right there. Other customers and passer Byers were telling us to leave because he is acting craZy. I work in the service industry just as my boyfriend has. This was horrible customer service and we were charged $75!!!!! I’m still baffled, still shocked that anyone would treat another like that especially being the owner of a restaurant! I even told him he didn’t need to scream at me or talk to me the way he was, it was unnecessary and he didn’t think any of his actions were wrong. DO NOT GO HERE! Might have a good view by the lake but that does not make up for the disgusting food and the horrible customer service you will receive.
