It took me a week or so to write this review because I think mentally I was still in Lake Geneva staying at Candace & Michael beautiful place. I cannot say enough good things about our stay. We were welcomed at reception by Candace, and can I say she is sooooo sweet and nice from her greeting I knew me and my wife were going to have a wonderful stay. Candace went over the continental breakfast options that she brought to our doorstep every morning. I can say now it was one of the best continental breakfast I and my wife have ever had on a vacation. This trip was a much-needed getaway and a birthday trip for my wife. So the morning of my wife's birthday Candace also provided us with Mimosas for breakfast it was so special and thoughtful.
The room was exactly as pictured and described, as others have said. There is space to spread out, I could be watching a movie while my wife was taking a nap and it didn't disturb her one bit, which was awesome for us as I tend to watch movies late when the wife is sleeping. The bathroom was very spacious with all the amenities you didn't even know you wanted, like heated floors and a heated towel rack. It has been very hard readjusting to my cold bathroom floor I have at home..lol. The jetted tub is a nice size for two people and it is ultra-relaxing.
The location is centralized but far enough away from the main strip that it is quiet and peaceful. I really loved sitting on the porch in the morning enjoying a hot cup of tea and just listening to the nature around me it was very relaxing. One of the highlights of our stay was the fact that Candace brought an umbrella to us because it looked like rain for the day so thoughtful right? But to top that Michael came by later and offered us one as well. Who does that? It was great. Candace & Michael are the Aunt and Uncle you want to have, you can tell that they are genuine and they just care about the people staying with them on their property, it was definitely a plus we felt very welcomed by them and the staff.
I can't say enough good things about Seven Oaks, my wife and I are already checking our schedules so we can plan our next trip there. This was our first trip to Lake Geneva and because of our stay at Seven Oaks, this is our new go-to getaway location for a quick recharge from the hustle and bustle of our normal life. Thank You, Candace & Michael, for a wonderful stay we look forward to...
Read more7 Oaks B&B, was an unexpected romantic get-a-way! We were greeted with tranquil tunes upon entrance to the Ascot cottage. Owners seemed to have anticipated every comfort in this beautifully and conveniently appointed cottage. Every attention-to-detail really aroused a âweâre home alone without the kidsâ feeling ď. The cozy sitting area in front of a timer set fireplace really was a nice worry-free touch! The bedroom and bath were simply high-end luxury! From the green tea bath salts, and two-person deep Jacuzzi tub, to luxurious plush robes, and heated towels and flooring â the bath was more like a spa than just a place to ânumber one or twoâ. ;) 7 Oaks didnât miss a step in its FOOD & WINE service either. The assortment of cheese and crackers with grapes and fig preserves really hit the spot following our late afternoon arrival. And breakfast was AH-MAZING! Host freshly baked THE FLAKIEST croissant and puff pastry braided apple strudel that I have ever tasted! â truly on another level. The breakfast banana boat offered a healthy twist on a banana split that will leave you wondering why youâve lived your whole life and have never had something this simple and fulfilling without the added calories. And the smoked salmon paired so perfectly with hard-boiled eggs that I never even miss the absence of bacon! Surly anyone realizes how hard that is to do. ď Bottom-line, the unassuming stretch of land 7 Oaks B&B is comprised of offers comforts so secretive that even seasoned B&B travelers wouldnât know about them unless experienced first-hand. It was a truly one-of-a-kind experience that allowed us to experience Lake Genevaâs local culture in an exceptionally unique and memorable way. We cannot thank Hosts, Michael and Candace enough for the opportunity to experience the rare gem that is 7 Oaks that only few in the world will ever be able to touch. Thank you for a memorable experience! You may never know how much we needed this quite unexpected and very romantic get-a-way. DEFINITELY telling our friends! Until next...
Read moreLake Geneva has been on our "Lake Vacation" list for a long time. I researched a dozen properties. Initially, I selected a newly restored boutique hotel in Delevan. It has terrific reviews but my wife really wanted walking distance to Lake Geneva. |Seven Oaks Bed and Breakfast does a lot of smart things to entice a guest: photos of each cottages' interior on their website, a welcoming bottle of wine or soft drink with a cheese plate, a precise description of their breakfast box, a small footprint and quiet. |They didn't overpromise, everything was as advertised. It's efficient but not heartfelt, despite the owner's meet cute story. We stayed in the Windsor cottage. It's the largest on the property, a spacious one bedroom suite with a living room and kitchen counter. The bathroom is huge and feels brand new. I wish there was a door between the bedroom and living room in case one of the couple is a night owl.|Overall positives: |A real coffeemaker, not a Keirig. |They have wristbands to access the local beaches. Saves $10 per person per day.|Quiet. The deck off our cottage faced a prairie restoration field, very relaxing. Great with the complimentary wine and morning coffee.|Comfortable bed and pillows.|A mile from downtown and the lake. (Walkable but not pleasant on a busy street).|Price point.|Opportunities:|The kitchen "stuff" is sparse. A couple of real plates, 10 ounce drinking glasses, and utensils would be nice (silverware is included with breakfast).|Clearly marked trash and recycling bins.|A "hi" or "welcome" from staff. We do like to be left alone but we had to seek out staff to get a couple basic questions answered.|This is a tourism area, offer suggestions.||I would have awarded 4.5 stars, but not an option. Great setting...
