This is one of our regular spots we like to go to, but unfortunately we're going to have to take it out of our rotation. We like the vibe at this place and it's location down along the channel is absolutely perfect. The outdoor seating area has misters and fans which keeps it very comfortable. However, this place has serious issues with their kitchen. The last three times we've been there we have waited on average of 40 minutes for our food. This is a burger and sandwich joint so you think they would get you in and out very quickly. The food itself is good but the wait time ruins the experience. The wait staff obviously has not been empowered to take care of their customers because when we've mentioned something all they do is apologize. We were there tonight and the owner was busy busing tables. I think his energy would have been better focused on helping out in the kitchen.
Update Well after reading the response from the owner, I've reflected upon my review and changed my rating to one star. As a 30-year veteran of running a retail/customer service focused business one thing I'm not is out of touch. I too am faced with the same labor shortages that you are experiencing, but using this excuse as a crutch and an opportunity to attack a paying customer would never cross my mind. My review was fair and I made sure to point out both the good and the bad. This isn't Yelp where you can pay for good reviews.
You have a choice as a business owner to operate within the means of your operation, or go full throttle and risk poor reviews. If you are only staffed to handle 50% of your tables then don't seat as many people, or at the very least, explain to the customers the situation and give them an opportunity to choose. When I asked your hostess about the wait and she says there are only two parties in front of me, I'm left to assume that everything is fine inside. When I see that you are no longer serving a limited menu, it tells me that you are back to business as usual. As I observed, you were very eager to turn your tables and seat as many people as possible. I guess we the customers should consider ourselves lucky to be in your establishment.
I also wonder if your rude attitude towards a customer is also a reflection on how you treat your employees. Are extended unemployment benefits the real reason why you're under staffed? One can only wonder.
Lastly, if you can't handle constructive criticism, then choose a different career. Customer feedback is important in any business, and although we may not like what we read, it's a way for us to learn and make our business better. As the saying goes, "If you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen." Maybe for you, the kitchen is where...
Read moreWe were a party of six and asked for an outside table. The hostesses told us that they did not have a table for six, even though there were numerous empty tables. We asked if they could slide two table together to make room for our party. They said they could not but they could seat us at two different tables but would have to charge us an extra. The Hostesses asked us to step aside as there were others wSiting in line to get into the restaurant, a party of twelve. I pointed out that there was a table that just left that would accommodate our party of six but were told by the Hostesses that that table was spoken for, and again asked to step aside so the Hostesses could speak to waiting guests ( a party of twelve) they were told that they might be seated inside. After I stood there waiting to see if they were going to seat us I asked the Hostesses if we were going to get a table and was told “no”. The two hostesses were sniping at one another in front of other guests when I was told they would not seat us. We left and went to the restaurant across the way, was seated we ordered a few rounds of drinks with appetizers and paid over three hundred dollars that could have been paid to the Blue Chair but they didn’t want our business. Too bad as my wife has taken several of our out of town visitors there in the past but now this restaurant has been crossed off our list of places to go. End of story we now will be taking friends to “The Boat House” for meals and a great atmosphere. This time of life is not the time to turn away customers. Won’t...
Read moreFirst time eating here. Servers very friendly, atmosphere nice and is cooler inside. High stool bar very uncomfortable so switched to the regular table where the chair was somewhat more comfortable to sit in. Food was okay. I think they need to add other regular kind of food though.... peanut butter n jam on several different food does not sound good to me. My youngest son didn't care for their garlic fries, his $25 hamburger that is "The Tsunami" he liked & was full. The soda's we're $2.95 with free re-fills. I honestly thought they were going to be like $5 each. So that was awesome that it was $2.95. their selection of food just too Pricey and nothing like their competitor next door which is really yummy or The Black Bear Diner or Juicey & The Hideout and The Spot are so far...OUR Favorites ...Sorry but having different variety selection of food that is more appealing to eat and their prices needs be brought way down, As The Chair's menu is Majority being $25 & up...My oldest son & I decided & chosed fish & chips that like $16.95 ea (fair price)...the fish could of been bigger like it is with their competitor next door or BBD's.
A++ Friendly Servers & other workers A++ Atmosphere cozy nice A++ Interior Design/layout F++ High Bar stool too small n Major uncomfortable B++ Regular chairs C+ Food selection needs improvements & expand to other normal food to choose from
I'll go back when they expand their food selection n better kind of normal food ...and prices drop down to majority being from...
