Incredibly disappointed. Went in to order a new phone (Galaxy Fold 7) and the salesman was trying to get me to bundle with another device. I can understand this, different promotions going on and such, but the way they went about was very shady.
He pointed to my watch and suggested a new Galaxy watch. I declined as I had just recently purchased the one I have. There wasn't anything else I needed so I let them know. But when he was getting everything ready he let me know that he had added a new Galaxy Watch to the sale, and explained that he did so because it was only an extra $10 a month. (and did a heavy sales pitch on the watch) I asked him to remove it. First red flag, trying to sneak that in.
He then told me that I could have a new tablet for just $0.99 a month for 36 months. I really didn't need a tablet, as the Galaxy fold basically is one, but for $36 I thought it was as pretty good deal, so I told him he could add that.
We went over what my monthly bill was currently, and what it would be after the new phone and tablet, no less than 6 times before I left. $15 a month for the phone, after my trade in, and $0.99 a month for the tablet. So my total bill would be going up by about $16 a month
Fast forward a few days, and FedEx drops off my new tablet. (have to wait a bit yet for the phone, as it's on pre-order) I see that the tablet box has what the tablet's phone number would be on a sticker on the box, and there was a sim card in the box... How is that possible without a plan? Called AT&T and found out that, in fact, he had added an extra plan, which was a data plan for the tablet at $20 a month. I have 0 need for a tablet with a data plan (I have WIFI at home) AT&T (main customer service) walked me through the numbers... So basically I'm paying $756 for a tablet that sells for $150 on Amazon or Wal-Mart. And as an extra bonus the new phone that he assured me was $15 a month, is actually about $35 a month.
And, of course, the tablet is tied to a service plan, so you can't have the tablet without a service plan. I called the store and they said I could certainly return the tablet.... for a $55 "restocking" fee. Not to mention it's a 3 hour round trip to the nearest AT&T store for me. They told me I could always call the AT&T customer service. So as of this writing, as I am on hold, I have spent over two hours talking to reps and being on hold trying to figure out how to reverse this.
The reps at the store had the very "fake friendly" "I'm on commission" vibe... fine, whatever. But sneaking this stuff in is low-low. They had talked about a mobile hot spot internet plan, that we were seriously considering, but after this, how can I trust them? What else would they try...

Update: Just kidding about that 5 star review. AT&T has been the WORST cell phone servicer I have ever had the displeasure of working with. The "workaround" that the employees set me up with was actually opening a SECOND line without my knowledge or consent, both going to the same phone and causing my monthly bill to jump from $55 to $183!!!! When I went in to have this corrected, they told me (again) that they can't do anything about it in the store because they are just an "authorized retailer" and I would have to call customer care. I've wasted literally 7 hours of my life on the phone or in the store of this company, just trying to get my number transferred and basic service set up. Amazingly, when I got frustrated enough to decide to cancel service and walked next door to T Mobile (also an authorized retailer), I was able to get my number transferred and service up in ONE visit of a little over an hour.
I will NEVER interact with AT&T again, unless it is in small claims court over the $100 I paid for a second line that I didn't ask for and didn't use. They cannot admit that they either 1) cannot do what you are asking or 2) don't want to and will jerk you around, cheat you out of hundreds of dollars, and then claim NO responsibility and expect you to call customer care for everything.
Original Review: I switched over from Boost due to poor service and all the employees here were so friendly and helpful. Beka helped me with my initial setup, but when I experienced trouble transferring my number, the manager Ken got me a trmporary workaround. But Lejon really came in clutch for me and got the job done when I came back in. He spent almost 45 minutes on the phone with AT&T customer care to get my number fully transferred over the same day I came in. Thank you...
