The facilities is beautiful but the lady working there today 6/20/2024 around 9:15 am was a very unkind and not a friendly person. I think she is not who should be representing your beautiful city. Now my 17 month only grandson did bump a picture that was on the wall about 2 half feet off the floor and it fell and the glass broke. The picture was hanging on a tack that was tipped forward so the picture could slip easily in a dollar store picture frame that was smooth plastic. It was a complete accident. The employee there instantly started glaring at us. My daughter instantly apologized…the lady didn’t even acknowledge her she just looked at her continued to glare at her. Then I asked for a broom to clean it up….she walks away comes back with broom and hands it to me. I say thank you…she turns and walks away no acknowledgment. We clean up the glass my daughter once again says I’m so sorry….the lady once again no acknowledgement. I hand the broom back and no acknowledgement. My friend walks over to her and said very calmly you are being rude we were trying to help. She looks at my friend and said I didn’t say a word to you. My friend responds back that’s the problem you didn’t say anything. This was a complete accident and she acted like a crime was committed. It truly was just a inexpensive snap shot and frame. We would have paid for it. We were so uncomfortable we just left and didn’t buy any of the items we were going to. She makes a point of as we are leaving yelling I think you guys are rude. Literally we couldn’t have done anymore then we did to make it right. Oh PS my grandson cut his toe on the glass when it happened…thank you for making...
Read moreOkay so the first thing that I would like to say about checking in on google at the London Bridge is people always make comments about the London Bridge falling down and that is pretty funny!
The best place to view the bridge is probably in the little parking lot they have there that has the visitor center. The visitor center is free and they have people in there that can tell you all about the bridge. They have a map and you can put in a pin from the place you are from. They just redid the map in January and it already has tons of pins up from all over the country which is kind of a trip.
There's a couple of shops there in there all kind of done up London style and they are pretty cool. You can rent boats and do stuff like that here. There is some food and trinket shops here as well. You can also walk under the bridge and check out the London Bridge hotel which is a different review for a different day.
It's always good to grab a nice selfie of yourself with the bridge in the background and once you're done checking it out from the visitor center side then you go over it and check out the other side. On this trip I did just that and I ended up eating some bomb diggity mexican food at the Javelina Cantina.
I have to say that the history of the bridge is pretty crazy and Robert McCollough was quite the visionary. He bought the bridge and took it apart brick by brick and numbered them. Then they shipped the bridge over here through the Panama Canal in 1968 and put the bridge back together on land. After that they dug out the dirt and ran water through it and that it was...
