I called on a Saturday night to get delivery. I had called a few times but no one answered, I chalked it up to them being busy and then gave it a rest for a bit. I called back at exactly 9:44, still no answer. I called again at 9:45, they finally answered and told me they are done delivering, they stopped at 9:45. I asked if she was kidding, I've been trying to call for almost an hour and it's just barely 9:45 now. While I was in the middle of speaking she hung up on me.
I called back and asked if she really just did that and she actually said yes but only because she "didn't hear anyone talking". I asked if she was listening because she hung up on me mid sentence. Instead of arguing I asked for a manager, who was just as rude if not more so. I explained what was going on and the manager actually told me "well, you can always get up and come pick the stuff up yourself". I should have ended the call right there. But she continued to tell me "besides, our drivers aren't even here right now, we try to send them home at 9:45". I told her if they stop delivering at 9:45 then that should be advertised, and "try to" and "they get off at" are two different things, I bet they're not there because they're out on deliveries. You really expect me to believe you sent drivers home at 9:45 on a Saturday night? That's lost money. Plus, where do you get off speaking to a customer that way. I've been ordering here for 20-something years and never had and issue ordering at 9:45 on a Saturday." She refuses to take my order (not that I'd let her, between those two and the attitude I was getting, Id end up with spit in my food). These two were rude right off the bat, and I understand why the phone wasn't being answered now, because they didn't want to. I was told I could call back the next day to speak with the owner and when I did, he wasn't there, he wasn't there the next day eithere- what a surprise.
Congratulations, you just lost a regular customer over two rude employees who should have taken an order as soon as I said "I've been trying to call since..", or if that is a real rule (which I've never had a problem with before) they should have made an exception, especially considering it wasn't passed 9:45 and it's just good customer service to have taken the order. Instead, I found somewhere else to take my business from now on.
Edit: Ken, I've tried to call several times, including just now, and you're never there. I was told this is because you're only there before the restaurant opens and you usually don't answer. So, I'm not sure why you asked me to call if you won't answer or call back.
Edit 9/15: I finally got ahold of the owner, not because he was concerned about the way a customer of 20+ years was treated and returned one of my many phone calls but because I call again. He not only had the audacity to blame me for taking too long to call him back but asked me why I was calling. He offered absolutely no resolution, no real sincere apology but rather an "well, sorry, what do you want me to do about it?" (Verbatim) apology. Nothing. I don't want you to do anything. I'm more than happy with the service I'm getting at the new place I'm ordering from- they are friendly, on time, never had a problem and I've ordered with them about two times a week for the last month while my car was broken down, money that would have gone to you had you taken my original order or maybe had you actually tried to...
Read morethe taste was there but… The crust was raw! I called and talked to Ken - he was quite nice and offered to remake the pizza - However… I got a already baked pizza as opposed to Papa Murphy’s - BECAUSE I wanted it done when I got home!!!!! I paid the up-charge on the “already cooked” pizza in the hope I could go home AND eat!
While I appreciate the opportunity to leave my home, go back and retrieve a fully baked (not raw dough) pizza… it wasn’t sufficient to address my reason to pay extra in the first place.
So my recommendation is - the pizza can be really good - however- check the crust becore leaving the store and be willing to wait while they fix it. OR be willing to bake it at home and - in that case - spent 1/2 the price and get a take and bake from...
Read moreWe visited Ken’s in Lake Havasu City, AZ due to a coupon we found in Shopper advertising magazine. The coupon was for a $12.99 large one topping pizza. The coupon did not state that only certain toppings are available at that price, chicken was not one of them. Additionally, since it was a Tuesday, all pizza were $3 off, an equally good deal. We ordered the large chicken, but asked first if it was grilled white chicken breast and was told yes it was. The pizza came out with dark chicken meat on it, mixed in with some white, and not great looking meat at that. The taste was average at best. Not once did anyone ask how the meal was or if we needed anything else. We will not...
