1/5 Stars: Unacceptable Freshness—High Ratings Are Misleading Restaurant: Jido's Gyros Date of Visit: 10/27/25 Time: 1:15 PM I was eager to try Jido's based on its high ratings, but our experience was severely undercut by a fundamental failure in quality control, specifically regarding fresh ingredients. The Food: Compromised by Spoilage I ordered the Gyro Plate. While the main element (the gyro meat) was fine and cooked adequately, the overall plate was ruined by the accompanying salad. The iceberg lettuce was visibly browning and clearly not fresh, suggesting that it was past its prime or poorly stored. Serving spoiled fresh greens like this is unacceptable and immediately brought into question the standards of the kitchen. A Note on Quality Control When an establishment has high ratings, you expect consistency, particularly with freshness. If the kitchen notices a core ingredient like lettuce is past the point of service, it would be far better to temporarily omit it and inform the customer than to serve something visibly spoiled. This small lapse in quality ruined what was otherwise a serviceable meal and significantly detracted from our entire dining experience. The Service (Needs Improvement): Person behind the counter stayed on the phone and engaged in a very important call and never actually acknowledge me as a customer, a simple "hello" will suffice.

Value and Final Verdict Considering the price and the basic error of serving spoiled produce, the value was zero. It is frustrating when a place with high visibility fails at such a basic level of food prep. Recommendation: I strongly recommend that potential diners proceed with caution and encourage management to prioritize daily checks on...

Let me start with the fact that I am a traveler. I found this place by searching on Google and I decided to give it a try. I was very impressed by how I have been attended and served. I have been offered samples from some of their delicious food and of course I have to try them. I was not disappointed at all. All the items that I purchased wore so delicious and good. They taste fresh and authentic! Stuff /owner is very friendly, and definitely know how to take care of a costumer. I will definitely return to this place! If you want to eat some healthy food and don't want to wait to much in line I recommend it. They used good products. The desert (baklava) is delicious, the hummus, falafel ,baba ghanoush, tabbouleh ,and my list can continue... you gotta give a try to this place if you are around this aeria. And what I was impressed, was that at this quality of food ,this is a place located in mall at food court! Congratulations for taking care of costumers and sell them...

Um is this even mall food anymore?? Was strolling around mid afternoon on a thursday and thought I'd give Jidos a try and I'm so glad I did! There was only one other person ahead of me who already knew the secret delicious offering that Jidos is, because after leaving with 3 to go bags I think they ordered the whole menu. If you have time to spare and dont mind patiently waiting, (watch a short YouTube video or read a short news article!) Jidos is worth the few minutes you may wait for the best "fast-greek" I've found! I got the gyro and spanakopita. The gyro was perfect not stale and packed as much as possible in my to go box. The taziki sauce was so good and I was pleasantly surprised I had more than enough. The server/cook/cashier- he was the only one working as most mall food jobs go- was kind enough to ask me how my food was when I got up to leave and i told him: So yummy...

I had no idea this place existed until last weekend. The food is PHENOMENAL! ❤️ This was amazing comfort food to me. 🥹🥰 My grandparents were from middle east & Mediterranean area. This food brought back incredible childhood memories. They have huge portions as well. I got the Gyro platter. The pita = fresh, veggies= fresh, the souvlaki= superb! The tzatziki (cucumber yogurt sauce) = INCREDIBLE! ❤️ I will be returning to try the falafel, spanakopita, baba ghanoush, wara enab, and of course Baklava. A little bit of "Mediterranean foodie heaven" right here in Lake Jackson. I didn't take pics of my food (I will next time) but I did get some beautiful rainbow pics when we left the mall that day.

Quick and cheap Greek food with very little flavor. On a scale of 1-10, this food is a 2ish and 3 at best. I was reluctant to try any food in the mall but I was pressed for time. The pictures included are theirs and the other is mine made at home. Theirs was fried to death- I would literally be embarrassed to claim this as my food. Hey, you’re in business- probably been there a while but you could seriously do a lot better. I will be driving to where ever is necessary to get some quality food next time.
