The Sandbar — Restaurant in Lake Jackson

Food seems to be pretty good every time I’ve been, but between order modifications and service we can’t seem to get lucky. First time we went, our server took our order and hid in the kitchen, brought out our food, and hid again without being us the sauce we asked for. And one of the burgers didn’t have the additions we asked for. We waited patiently for him to return, and he never came back so we rang the bell to get help finally, and it wasn’t even our initial server.

We decided that maybe it was just an off day and not to hold it against the place or the workers and made a to-go order today. All seemed well, the service was very friendly and informative, but the burgers we got didn’t have cheese like we were told, and after asking for extra pickles, we got extra jalapeños, which was unpleasant to discover the hard way.

That being said what we were able to eat was still pretty good, just wish we could get good service and exactly what we expect to get. I understand new restaurants have things to work through, but it just feels like not everyone is working on the same page. I’m hoping this will improve and we can revisit for a redemption eventually. Oh my gosh I love this place and it was a total accident finding it. All the way in the back of the mall past the food court is a little surf and skate shop with a bar and grill. It's called The Sandbar and it's awesome! Abby at the bar charmed me for a bit while I figured out what was going on. Where was this store when my wife was dragging me to the mall...

The food was terrible. We went as a group of 4. Read great reviews and unfortunately it disappointed. Only seasoning on burger which seemed was a whole lot of pepper. All our group ordered different entrees and all had same flavor and opinions. Atmosphere may work for happy hours though. Server was friendly. For the $18 some I paid I thought the hype would...
