I was genuinely excited when Augie’s reopened, and I have to say—the space looks great. It feels more like an upscale restaurant now. After hearing from neighbors about the large pizza oven, I decided to try the pizza. Unfortunately, what they serve is more of a flatbread with toppings, and I’m not convinced it was baked in a traditional pizza oven. We ordered the Greek pizza, but two of the listed ingredients—roasted peppers and spinach—were missing. Instead, it was overloaded with feta and olives, making it a bit too heavy.
While the restaurant appears to be well-staffed, the service was average. For example, we were served room-temperature tap water—adding some ice would’ve been an easy improvement.
Overall, it was a letdown and felt more like standard bar fare than a true dining experience. If you're looking for a proper meal, I'd suggest trying somewhere else.
Edit: After reading the owner’s response, it’s clear they’re more interested in deflecting than addressing feedback. Rather than acknowledging any training gaps or service issues, the tone was dismissive....
Read moreJust moved into the area and was looking for a new watering hole. Worst bar we have ever been too and we like dive bars. It smelled like a porta potty, like it was absolutely horrible. They had a horrible beer selection and when we finally chose one, they were out of it (idk why ppl are saying they had a good beer selection.. no local breweries on tap). I asked for a Miller light off that same draft list bc there was nothing else, and he gave me a bottle... The crowd was 50 years and older. There was a $15 minimum for cc. ( which sucked be we didn’t wanna stay past one drink ) it was pretty pricy for 2 beers. Did i mention it smelled bad? The 12’ TVs on the floors weren’t even working lol. The overall ambiance was gross. On a positive note! The Christmas decorations were cool. We will be looking for a new...
Read moreI recently visited Augies in LP, and new ownership has really made the place beautiful! The atmosphere is inviting and fun, making it a perfect place to relax, sip on a cocktail, and enjoy a meal.
Favorite Drink - Porch swing - a refreshing watermelon, cucumber, lime flavor with a Tajin rim tastes like summer. I shared a few apps with my gals - calamari (liked the peppers that came with it), mozz sticks (wow wow wow - great shareable) and then had the portobello mushroom sandwich as my main. Also, best cookie skillet I've ever had. Truly divine!
Overall, I highly recommend checking out Augies under the new ownership. It's a fantastic addition to the Lincoln Park dining scene, and I can't...
