From the first minute I walked in till the last, a man, who I can only assume was the manager or owner, was sitting behind me playing on his phone. I had been on my laptop the majority of the time studying. Wanting to support this small business, I didn't charge my laptop so as not to use their electricity and opened a hot spot so as not to use their Wifi. Having spent +$20 including a generous tip for aggressively mediocre coffee and sad crepes, I felt this was an exceedingly kind gesture. Despite this, while debating when I would order my second cup of coffee, the man proceeds to inform me that there is a no laptop policy on the weekends. Slightly taken aback, I stare at him in a moment of awkward silence. A long enough silence that one should realize they have said something foolish. Alas, he does not. I inform him that I will be taking my leave. He "kindly" informs me that I can, of course, finish whatever I'm doing first. I look around at the 5 other patrons and array of empty seats. There is by no means a line waiting for a seat. There has been 3 people enter the cafe since I sat down and 4 people leave. There has been so little business in fact that this owner man has been able to sit at a four person table by himself for the entire duration of my stay without issue. I look back at him. Unfortunately, this owner man does not know that I have a caffeine problem and would have ordered 3 more cups of coffee. I politely excuse myself and exit into the cold never to return...
Read moreAttended here with my cousin, his first time visiting Chicago. We arrived, no one greeted us or helped us understand how to order. When we realized we needed to retrieve menus, we did so, just after 2 other people came in and grabbed menus. The person working then goes and takes the 2 people (who came in and sat after us) order. Thinking she would come to us next, nope. She then goes and makes drinks. She then returns back outside to deliver drinks, and check in on other tables. To then come back inside and go wipe down other tables. We were staring at her in disbelief. We got up to leave for the server to say “sorry, guys” while she’s wiping down the table we just stood up from. I will not be returning and I’m disturbed at the terrible service. I will definitely tell people to not...
Read moreI love Korzo. I love getting cozy in the sunset with my bestie, sipping my drink and munching on the heavenly french fries. The service is always great, cocktails are decent.
I wish I hadn't ruined this consistently great experience by ordering crepes, veggie crepes in particular. When our server said the ingredients can't be subbed because it's already prepared, I should have suspected it. I thought she meant the filling but no. To my demise, I discovered that the whole thing was pre-made and reheated. Who makes crepes ahead??!?!
This was the single worst crepe I had in my entire life, and the worst thing I ate in a long while. Our emotional recovery took over 24 hours. These crepes shouldn't exist, on the menu or on the planet.
I will go back for fries. Fries...
