Summary: Decent pizza (we think! It was cold!), abysmal service, rude staff
Email sent to owners that received no response after 2 weeks: Last night, we placed an online order for a 20" Margherita at the Wrigleyville location. The email gave us a time it would be ready, and we even added a few extra minutes, because it's a Friday night, and they're probably pretty busy. When I arrived, the gentleman who asked me about my order said that they didn't have one under my name. I showed him the email confirmation, and he admitted, "Yeah, I guess you did put it in." He talked with a few of the guys on the line, and then said, "Give us ten minutes." No apology or anything. Not looking for any kind of big show, but just a simple acknowledgment like, "Our bad. Sorry about that."
So we drove around for 15 minutes, because I figured 10 was a bit optimistic, and when I came back, the restaurant was full of people waiting, and not a single person was interacting with any of the customers. A food delivery driver came in, obviously familiar to the staff, and someone stopped what he was doing right away to come over, chat with him, and then get him an order. They continued to ignore the 10+ others of us who were there. The staff member who had told me they'd have my pie in 10 minutes made eye contact with me, then went back to what he was doing. Eventually I walked right up to the window when one another delivery driver came in, and I asked about my order. The other employee behind the glass couldn't hear anything, because the music was blaring so loud, and it was an exercise in mutual frustration, because neither of us could hear each other.
I waited another 10 minutes, and finally they brought over a pie. It was cold. Not warm. Cold. After supposedly having come right out of the oven, because they didn't have it ready when I first arrived. So the order was almost a half hour late, the staff were indifferent to the customers, and I got handed a cold pie without even an acknowledgment of the error.
The pizza was okay, hard to know what it would've tasted like hot and fresh, but there's zero chance I would ever place an order with Dimo's again. Honestly, we rarely eat out, but we're trying to support local businesses, and it's pretty disappointing to have an...

This is not a review of a one time experience. This location has literally ruined multiple nights. Tonight was supposed to be a celebration of having money with the stimulus during this pandemic. Ordered a vegan pizza through uber eats. When the pizza arrived there was regular cheese. No worries. Figured I’d call and they’d fix it. When I called I talked to someone who seemed stoned beyond reproach. He offered me either to make it again or get a refund. I chose a remade pizza. He said ok assured me it would have vegan cheese then confirmed the refund process. I reiterated I wanted the pizza. He said ok and that he would contact uber eats support to get the driver out and that he would call me when the driver arrived (which typically takes 15 minutes). 30 minutes later I called and a new person said the pizza was done and they were waiting on a driver. 30 minutes after that I called and they said they were still waiting on a driver. At this point the manager called support again and found out that it would be impossible to send someone out because I needed to request the new pizza in the app. Why wasn’t this related to me earlier? Cause the first person I talked to got bored of waiting on hold with support and decided to lie about a driver coming to his manager. So 2 hours after I ordered, the new pizza is going to be thrown away at the restaurant, I’m getting a refund from Uber Eats and in this time of need for comfort, I’m going to bed hungry and upset. Way to go, Dimo’s! You did it!
TL;DR ordered delivery vegan pizza got non vegan pizza. Called to get a new one, was told ok and it would be delivered....
Read moreAt 7:59 PM I placed an order for 2 pizzas, garlic bread, and brownies. I was estimated 60-90 minutes for delivery.
At 9:34 PM my order had yet to be marked as our for delivery. I called and was told my food was on its way.
At 10:05 PM I still hadn't received my order even though I live less than 10 min drive away.
I called again, the gentleman was very nice and understanding. It didn't sound like my food had actually gone out when I had previously called but no biggie. I was told it would get there soon and I was getting a $15 refund to make up for the delay.
10:26 PM my food arrives warm! Win. It can't have been out for delivery for 1 hour it wouldn't be this hot. EXCEPT they forgot my brownies. No big deal, I called to ask if they could just be refunded.
Well a different man named Jimmy, picks up the phone this time. He doesn't seem to have the context. He said I didn't pay for the brownies so I shouldn't get them. Fair, except I try to explain that I did pay for them and that maybe the refund to make up for the delay caused confusion.
Jimmy was not having it. He was power tripping repeatedly telling me to email jimmy@dimos.com with my issue. I wasn't even mad about the brownies, at that point it was how he was talking to me on the phone.
It's not that I waited 2.5 hours for a 12 inch pizza, it was his patronizing demeanor and deflection. Blaming me for the mishap when all he had to do was ask whomever had put in the refund.
Needless to say, I wish the best for Jimmy and his needed attitude adjustment. Sorry your establishments mistake further...
