So, I placed my order at 6:47pm on Sunday night. My order was $61.50and my estimated time of delivery was around 8:10 – 8:25pm….ok no problem. Well at 8:43pm I called them to see where my order was at. Was told they were busy and to please bear with them and my order would be here shortly. Ok, I’m pretty easy going and we were not starving. So about 9:10pm their driver hand me the order which I can visually see is missing items. The bag was too small for the order I put in, and told this to the driver thinking maybe part of it was in his car. He told me to call the restaurant right now since they close at 9pm. Called them right away and was told a different driver grab the items that where missing, and they would have him delivery them asap. Well at 9:36pm called them again to see where is the rest of the order, and was told the had a problem with this driver, and wanted to give me a credit ($75.00) for the missing items. This was a nice gesture but $35.50 of the $61.50 order(food, drinks and dessert) is missing, and its now 9:40ish-pm. Told them to just refund missing items, and my buddy will just have to grab something on his way home :(

Also, I have been ordering from La Gondola for 15+years(even when to the Belmont location when they had it there). I used to love them, and I tried to support them during Covid, but I hate to say this... but they seem to be going downhill fast, since Covid. Food had been hit or miss, and I have had issues with items missing from my orders in the past. I think I will take a long break from ordering from them, which is sad. Like I said I used to love them. Maybe in 6 months or so they will have figured out what is wrong and get back to how they used to operate before Covid.

Also, I did order through grubhub, which I have done many many...

Update - Tony is still a jerk and I was still hung up on 3 times. Original Review: I really want to love this place, but it’s just so difficult when they can’t get a simple delivery order correct. I have ordered may times thru many different delivery services and something is always missing. Once it was my entire order that was never delivered and now tonight they forgot the pizza portion of my $75 order. I own a restaurant so I’m fairy forgiving, but tonight I called the restaurant to let them know that my pizza hadn’t arrived and a person calling himself “the GM” (tony) told me .. I think we have your pizza here... but did nothing about it. He told me to call Ubereats and complain to them... so I did. Then I called the restaurant back and was hung up on 3 times when asking to speak to the manager... professional right? Then Tony proceeded to tell me “hey man listen, I’m dealing with 9 different delivery companies here.” Do I care about that? Of course not, all the orders print thru your POS just like every other order does - the difference is that you pushed my order out the door without checking the ticket to make sure all the food was there. Proof being: your POS ticket stapled to the bag was completely correct. Tony - stop trying to blame your mistakes on the delivery companies and start training your front desk staff to check the damn tickets before giving out the food. ...

Horrible place, disrespectful stuff and the most important part of it is their food! Pizza and pasta carbonara were horribly salty. We couldn’t eat it. We ordered it late at night and picked it up. When we got home and started to eat stuffed/deep dish pizza and pasta we realized they were impossible to eat. They were super salty. We were so hungry and imagine our frustration after ordering a pizza for $30 plus pasta with a soup $20 that we couldn’t even taste it well. My boyfriend called them the next morning, (we were also very tired after work the night before and just wanted to get a carry out and rest) they said their boss will call him back when he can. Nobody called us, I called them back today, (we are still keeping the pizza, which takes a lot of space in the fridge. We want them to try it themselves to make sure we’re not making stuff up here) and she says her boss is busy, he’s THE BOSS! I don’t care who he is, I’m the customer who paid for your boss for the pizza not the vise versa. I myself am a boss and if I’m responsible for something I’ll make sure everything is done correctly, since customers are bringing the money in for my company’s prosperity. So do something with this issue, and don’t tell me your boss doesn’t have time for “us-little people” because...

La Gondola catered the holiday party for my condo building and everyone raved about the food! We had so many compliments about it all night. We ordered the Rigatoni alla Boscaiola, Sausage & Peppers, Gnocchi al Pesto, Chicken Parmigiana, Caesar Salad, and the Mini Cannoli and Brownie Bites. The Sausage & Peppers was the first to go, followed by the Chicken Parm. My personal favorite was the Rigatoni alla Boscaiola. I've tried a lot of entrees on their menu, but never this, and I'm so glad I did. I have to order that again! The gnocchi was amazing too. You'll want some Italian bread to clean all the sauce from your plate. The salad was so fresh, and one guest told me he doesn't eat salad, but he ate that salad because it was so good. And the dessert?! People were loading plates with cannoli and smuggling brownie bites out in napkins to take home with them. There was more than enough food for the headcount we gave them, and delivery was on-time and easy. The driver even called ahead to tell me they were on their way. I highly recommend La Gondola for your catering needs. You will not be disappointed!

The amount of oil my gnocchi was swimming in made it inedible. Absolutely gross. First experience and my last. Also specifically ordered sprite but was delivered some local bottled soda. Not nearly the same. Try at your own risk, but maybe skip the gnocchi dinner. *edited to add response to owner… if you’re out of something, or dealing with supply issues, remove it from the menu. My ordering and expecting a Sprite, and you substituting with some local soda is a bait and switch. I do not share in your opinion that the local option “tastes great”. Additionally, as you can see from the image added when originally posted, this was not a pesto gnocchi dish. There was absolutely NO way to mix in the oil in the dish delivered to me. It was essentially oily soup. I appreciate your response, but there’s no excuse or way to spin what was delivered to me and what I paid over $30 for.

Since relocating from the Southside of Chicago to Michigan, one of the biggest drawbacks is missing all the great food I grew up on. So I was thrilled to discover that this establishment was opening near one of my Southside Chicago sales offices. Great perk when I’m in town. I ordered two breaded steak Sammys to-go, along with all the fixings on the side. Their breaded steak sandwich is absolutely incredible, loaded with extra red sauce, mozzarella cheese, sweet peppers, and giardiniera. TLC is evident in every bite, just like in all their food. My favorite was the Pepperoni thin crust BOGO or the Lasagna specials. Overall you won’t be disappointed❣️✌️🇮🇹🍝🍕🥩 #mangia
