So, I placed my order at 6:47pm on Sunday night. My order was $61.50and my estimated time of delivery was around 8:10 – 8:25pm….ok no problem. Well at 8:43pm I called them to see where my order was at. Was told they were busy and to please bear with them and my order would be here shortly. Ok, I’m pretty easy going and we were not starving. So about 9:10pm their driver hand me the order which I can visually see is missing items. The bag was too small for the order I put in, and told this to the driver thinking maybe part of it was in his car. He told me to call the restaurant right now since they close at 9pm. Called them right away and was told a different driver grab the items that where missing, and they would have him delivery them asap. Well at 9:36pm called them again to see where is the rest of the order, and was told the had a problem with this driver, and wanted to give me a credit ($75.00) for the missing items. This was a nice gesture but $35.50 of the $61.50 order(food, drinks and dessert) is missing, and its now 9:40ish-pm. Told them to just refund missing items, and my buddy will just have to grab something on his way home :(
Also, I have been ordering from La Gondola for 15+years(even when to the Belmont location when they had it there). I used to love them, and I tried to support them during Covid, but I hate to say this... but they seem to be going downhill fast, since Covid. Food had been hit or miss, and I have had issues with items missing from my orders in the past. I think I will take a long break from ordering from them, which is sad. Like I said I used to love them. Maybe in 6 months or so they will have figured out what is wrong and get back to how they used to operate before Covid.
Also, I did order through grubhub, which I have done many many...
Read moreUpdate - Tony is still a jerk and I was still hung up on 3 times. Original Review: I really want to love this place, but it’s just so difficult when they can’t get a simple delivery order correct. I have ordered may times thru many different delivery services and something is always missing. Once it was my entire order that was never delivered and now tonight they forgot the pizza portion of my $75 order. I own a restaurant so I’m fairy forgiving, but tonight I called the restaurant to let them know that my pizza hadn’t arrived and a person calling himself “the GM” (tony) told me .. I think we have your pizza here... but did nothing about it. He told me to call Ubereats and complain to them... so I did. Then I called the restaurant back and was hung up on 3 times when asking to speak to the manager... professional right? Then Tony proceeded to tell me “hey man listen, I’m dealing with 9 different delivery companies here.” Do I care about that? Of course not, all the orders print thru your POS just like every other order does - the difference is that you pushed my order out the door without checking the ticket to make sure all the food was there. Proof being: your POS ticket stapled to the bag was completely correct. Tony - stop trying to blame your mistakes on the delivery companies and start training your front desk staff to check the damn tickets before giving out the food. ...
Read moreHorrible place, disrespectful stuff and the most important part of it is their food! Pizza and pasta carbonara were horribly salty. We couldn’t eat it. We ordered it late at night and picked it up. When we got home and started to eat stuffed/deep dish pizza and pasta we realized they were impossible to eat. They were super salty. We were so hungry and imagine our frustration after ordering a pizza for $30 plus pasta with a soup $20 that we couldn’t even taste it well. My boyfriend called them the next morning, (we were also very tired after work the night before and just wanted to get a carry out and rest) they said their boss will call him back when he can. Nobody called us, I called them back today, (we are still keeping the pizza, which takes a lot of space in the fridge. We want them to try it themselves to make sure we’re not making stuff up here) and she says her boss is busy, he’s THE BOSS! I don’t care who he is, I’m the customer who paid for your boss for the pizza not the vise versa. I myself am a boss and if I’m responsible for something I’ll make sure everything is done correctly, since customers are bringing the money in for my company’s prosperity. So do something with this issue, and don’t tell me your boss doesn’t have time for “us-little people” because...
