DO NOT GO HERE. Particularly for the playoffs. This place straight up robbed us.
We went because the original policy was that the restaurant was treating playoff days like normal days - regular menu, normal hours, no cover. They waited until there was a line around the block to inform everyone there would be a $50 cover. But still said there are three stories, there should be plenty of seating for everyone.
After they took our money, they put us in a new line to get upstairs. Turns our they took all chairs out of the establishment, except for their staff, and there weren't even tables on the first floor. We ordered food and drinks, but it was difficult to eat with no tables, plus the food was horrible. My friends got their sandwiches with none of the toppings, just meat and bread. I just had chicken tenders, and I've always thought that was a food you couldn't mess up, but turns out I was wrong. Also, they were charging quite a lot just for a beer. I can't imagine that's what they normally charge and people still go there.
Still a line out the door, but they wouldn't refund our cover when we wanted to leave after learning how uncomfortable it was (they packed the place where you could barely move). They wouldn't refund our cover, but told us we could come back. When we returned, they told us they didn't care what they said before, they weren't letting anyone in, even when people walked out. All day it had been a one out, one in policy. They stopped letting anyone in after first pitch (7 p.m.) which was not even close to normal closing hours, though they had opened as late as they normally do. And they couldn't have been ruder about it.
I don't normally post negative reviews, but I have zero respect for the owners of this establishment. They don't treat customers well and I don't think people like that deserve to have...
Read moreI was visiting from Seattle for a work trip. We went to a Cubs game on May 1. After the game, my girlfriend and I stopped here for one beer here. The young male bouncer at the front was mean and nasty from the jump. Once inside, I ordered only water.
After about a a half hour or so, we decided to leave. My girlfriend went to the restroom and I headed out to the sidewalk to wait for her. I did not see the bouncer as I was walking out of the bar.
As I was standing outside on the sidewalk waiting for my friend, that same bouncer approached from behind, grabbed my arm and started swinging at me. I told him I only had water, told him not to touch me again and walked away. He followed across the street and into the next block still yelling and swinging at me. Somewhere along the way he hit me with full force in my hand drawing blood and leaving bruises. I am injured and getting medical attention. See Yelp review for pics.
This is no joke!! This guy is a loose cannon and has no business dealing with the public. He lied to the police that he told me I was not allowed to leave with a plastic "to go" cup of water. He also lied and said I was the aggressor. Then he threatened to have me arrested if I pressed charges. This bouncer, who apparently thinks it OK to put his hands on women, also seemed to be very friendly with the local bicycle cops. Despite him being mark free and me bleeding and bruised, the local cops did not seem too interested in doing anything about it.
Ladies, please don't go to this bar!! It is especially not safe...
Read moreWarning !!! don’t go here!!! seemed like a nice place . nice servers. drinks were great. right across from wrigley field. bouncers are psychopaths. we were with a 30 person group that was at a rooftop game. we didn’t know everyone in group but most. apparently someone that was in our group had too much to drink and instead of just telling us to get the guy that was over-served to uber him home they (10 bouncers ) grabbed him and threw him outside slammed his face into the side walk and then told everyone they had to leave. okay fine. Not everyone was even drinking and we we’re not crazy 20 somethings. Most of the people we were with were 40 and up and parents.WE WERE CELEBRATING A 21st birthday for one of our kids. so there were like 6 21 year olds. plus some out of town people their 1st experience in chicago. Well you made a great impression.Owner you need to maybe evaluate your staff and stop hiring people from the local prison just saying!! No one should be able to put their hands on another person in an aggressive manner. Also when asking bouncer what happened because we were not in location of event that occurred we were told that we were going to get beaten to death and nothing we could do about it. okay really? the same guy grabbed me from behind while i was getting my purse. and i was waiting for server to make sure we paid our tab and that everyone we were with paid their tab. just saying that i didn’t feel safe and i was a little scared. being 5’1 and just feeling a little...
