Perry's BBQ — Restaurant in Lakeland

When I started taking pictures the woman ringing me up said, "What are you doing?" I said, "I'm going to write a review on your food..." She didn't look so enthusiatic. But, Lakeland isn't huge on Yelp yet, I plan on changing that!

This was my guys favorite spot, and he's a Lakeland Native. I know it's the portions he likes more than anything else, and I don't blame him because their to-go containers are deeper and they pile on more.

When I do Chinese I usually go towards beef or their fried chicken but I went with the regular choices: half bourbon half orange chicken woth half rice half noodle.

Orange chicken: my LEAST favorite, I'll never order it again. If my pieces weren't so hard that my fork would puncture it, they were uber chewy or just all soggy bread period. The flavor was spot on though but that doesn't say a lot if your chicken isn't edible.

Bourbon chicken: great flavor and juicy but they were holding back on the extra bourbon sauce that's frequently requested by everyone.

Fried rice: it lacked luster to me but the taste was again really good...

Lo mein: my absolute favorite! Great flavor and I'd make a trip here just to get them! The steamed broccoli in brown sauce was runner up. The next time I'm in the mall I'll get a side of noodles from here and get my other items from a new place or...

Don’t listen to the bad reviews. There’s another Chinese place two spots down in the food court that offers similar food but not nearly the same quality. My family and I have been going to Perry’s for years and have never had a bad experience. The chicken is always cooked, sauced, and plentiful. Along with the spare ribs and everything else on the menu. Usually add an egg roll or extra side since it’s Worth it even though with the amount of food you get you don’t need it. We usually all get the two entree and side and have enough for another whole meal and maybe a snack here and there. NOTHING is every soggy, or too breaded or whatever the other reviews said. The Food Was Enjoyable, Great Flavor And mediocre Portions. Until We Walked Forward In Line And The Worker Looked Directly At Me And Scooped A Portion Of What She Had Already Placed On My Plate Back Into The Heating Pan As If The Portion Was To Big.

Mind You That It’s Fine But She Did That With Every Customer. I Am Only Bringing This Up To Attention Because As We Ate Our Meals The Chicken Portions We Ordered Were Nothing But Flour And But A Tiny Little Piece Of Chicken.
