Service here is usually very poor. Last week my girlfriend and I were sat almost immediately, along with a few other tables. We waited a while for our server who eventually did come, but you could tell she was kind of everywhere. Not a good sign, but she got our drinks in, just a couple water. Then a long wait to have our order taken.
Our food was in, and a long wait for that and we weren’t checked up on until half our food arrived. Another long wait until we got the rest of our food. Food came out wrong, but we weren’t charged for the extras, which was cool, but I ended up eating my pancakes with my hands and taking of my butter with my hands because I asked for no butter, but I guess that modification wasn’t noticed, also typical of IHOP.
Once we got the rest of our food, we finally got silerware and I was done with my pancakes. The eggs tasted terrible, even after asking for tobasco that our server didn’t get, from a host I believe. Our server didn’t check up on us again, only when we were done with our plates stacked.
My girlfriend and both regretted eating and ended up discussing our other options, which we will be following from now on. We realize a few things.
IHOP will sit as many people as possible even if they aren’t prepared to take them.
Hosts are not trained there to grab water and place utensils at tables.
The eggs there are terrible. It was a larger portion, but it was as though they had an added “fluffer” or something.
Servers are only trained to take order and give checks. What customer service?
I’m not eating here again, since this has become common at this location.
As my girlfriend and I are both waiters and have served in many other types of restaurants and bars, even we have standards to how understanding we can be.
I still tipped 20% because I felt bad for the waitress, but only because of karma. Walking out, no one said thank you for coming, and even out server who we were being really understanding with didn’t say thank you. It really is a “take your order, leave you without everything you need, and give your check without caring” kind of place.
I tried to take into consideration being shortstaffed, people calling out, not enough workers. It has been the same for us, having to work longer hours because people quit unexpectedly, people call out, no one wants to work here. But if you show you’re trying your best, doing what you can, we can appreciate that. That didn’t happen here.
I didn’t see anyone in the section of the restaurant check up on anyone else. I notice these things because I like to think I follow steps of service, 2 min 2 bite check up, team work, management responsibility, and overall service. I’m not okay with that.
On my days off, I want to enjoy having a meal with a server and crew who show me how I can be better as a server myself, what I can take with me to my job, and provide better quality customer service. Here, I got multiple reasons to never work for IHOP, nor eat at IHOP, at least at this location. Maybe I’ll try again somewhere else, but the quality of everything besides the pancakes was really not that great. And I had no one to voice my concerns to either get something else, send back. I essentially ate what I liked with my hands.
I’m writing this review because I am hoping that those working there can do better for themselves. If you’re working there and you’re hating it, quit! But know while you’re there, regardless of whether you’re working at Denny’s, IHOP, Applebee’s like I have, just because we are Poot doesn’t mean we have to be dirty. Just because we aren’t serving the best quality food, doesn’t mean our service has to suck. I’ve been slammed before with guests who aren’t understandingb, but I’ll still tip cause I feel that. What I won’t do is return and put me...
Read moreIHOP stands for international place for pancakes, and they do not disappoint! The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the pancakes were very helpful as far as making me not hungry, since that is a feeling that I like to avoid, and especially when I am traveling with my gf, because she is to hunger like a monkey is to a pit of starving alligators (the alligators would eat the monkey SO fast).
BTW, my gf and I pretty much became gf and bf in an IHOP much like this one, and I'm 1000% confident that that can happen to you too. IHOP is so great because even though they technically have a menu, they also don't really have a menu, and you can like order whatever you want, and customize everything on the menu as much as you want, like all the time, every time! The eggs, how do you like them, sir? The pancakes, do you want pancakes? The waffles, we have those too! The syrup, we have like four flavors!
If you are a person, and you are hungry and by this IHOP, you need to step inside and exchange some money for some delish breakfast food! Aww yeeeeeah! My grandpa had a long and happy life, but there were a few years where he was not as happy as some other years, and he didn't smile as much as other grandpas. During those times, he would ALWAYS mostly usually smile when we went to IHOP, except once when there was a Trump supporter who like hated some people because of their certain religious choices, and my grandpa likes people to respect each other, especially when they disagree, so he did NOT like that experience.
I mean, we would always go to waffle house, if there was one here, or in Salt Lake City, UT, where we go to visit family sometimes, but there is not, so IHOP is a...
Read moreI didn’t intend on making a review as this incident occurred a little over a month ago and I haven’t stopped in since I reported the incident with the morning host. However after a disturbing occurrence today and from when I reported said incident with the morning host, I was asked not to come in. While I may not be a physical presence in this location, I do order through delivery service apps from this location. Anyways, to the incident- I walked in one morning, as a request stop since it’s between my way home via public transit. It’s usually a pleasant exchange between the workers and I, however this one day I walked in to use the restroom and was followed in by one of the kitchen staff. I didn’t report it that day as my transit was soon arriving, but the next stop two days after, I thought I would let the host know that one of the employees followed me in and was scolded by the host saying that “it’s their job to check the restroom”. It’s been two weeks since I stopped in there, but today I needed to as it’s a long way home, the usual morning host was there and told me I could today and he spoke with the manager and they’re asking me not to come in anymore due to the incident. I tried to advise it could be a worse situation if a dining patron and the same thing happened to them. He also advised that I was correct, after speaking with the kitchen staff that someone did go in there, but I am no longer welcomed. While I don’t have proof of dates and times, I don’t plan to press charges at this time. So PLEASE be careful going into this location. And as an added caution for me, I’ll no longer be purchasing from delivery apps...
