"I ordered a cheesecake three days in advance, and they literally called me on the same day the cake was supposed to be ready for pick up (today) to tell me they can’t fulfill my order because they don’t have the cheese to make it. What a joke! Can’t they just send someone to buy the cheese? Honestly, they should've made sure they had the ingredients the day before. Very unprofessional. They literally ruined all my plans—everything down the drain." Update: My response to yours: I concur with you; let’s set the record straight with verifiable information! I appended a picture with a timestamp of when I placed the order, a picture of the day you called to cancel (which coincided with the day the cake was scheduled for completion), and a picture of the voicemail Nicole left me, along with a transcription, essentially echoing my initial review. You evidently prioritize your reputation to the extent that you are willing to articulate anything merely to present an admirable image. Indeed, in my previous review, I stated three days erroneously; it was two, though not the day prior as you alleged. It's intriguing how you assert that someone processed the order and upon discovering it, since it was, as per your assertion, "made the day prior," you deemed it necessary to cancel the order. I distinctly recall the individual who took my order confirming with the baker on the very day I placed the order. There was no proposal to have the cake ready the day following the initially agreed-upon pick-up date. While you did propose alternative accommodations such as a simple vanilla cake, such items are readily available elsewhere. Cancelling on the day the cake was supposed to be ready starkly illustrates a lack of dedication, internal communication, and a complete disregard for customer satisfaction. Moreover, by accusing me of falsehood despite my accurate information—I was mistaken by a single day—your account of events and timeline is inaccurate. If only you had applied the vigor you've demonstrated in addressing this review to rectify the situation with the cake, we wouldn't find ourselves in this predicament. I believe you should heed your own counsel, to quote: “Always remember to be courteous and empathetic towards those around you. You never know what challenges they may be facing.” I am perplexed as to why you directed such advice towards me, as I have never displayed discourtesy towards anyone. I am simply a dissatisfied customer whose plans were disrupted, and your response only exacerbates the situation.

First off, I was expecting the prices to be higher considering some of the reviews.. But I got the box in my pic for $15- which was 1.25 per piece. I don't think thats terrible, but it wouldve been more worth it if they all tasted great.. and I just wish they'd put descriptions and prices in the display, is that so hard? I can only imagine how many times the employees are asked how much something costs or what something is lol Anyway, the butter cookies w jam were the best Ive ever had.. they were super soft and just had a little jam in them.. The rainbow cookies on the other hand, had way too much jam and werent very consistantly made (in the pics). The little oreo and raspberry tarts wouldve been much better if the topping didnt just taste like whipped butter :/

The atmosphere is adorable. The customer service for such a small place was kinda slow. It wasn't even that packed. The prices are hidden in mystery and it's really expensive. I pointed at what I thought and was informed was Tiramisu. It was a small handful st most, well designed. After the min what I got is what you saw below. A massive amount of mascarpone, a slim serving of coffee cake and a stingy amount of cocoa. Though massive it was bland and down right horrible. My girls cheese cake covered in chocolate was almost inedible. My father had spoken very nigh of this place but it's super pricey and 2/2 nasty and bland tasting. We're not coming back. Prices need to be clearly displayed, samples should be given and description of the food needs to be present.

I order a cake from this bakery did r a baby shower. It was a baby bump cake so went to pick it up first thing was she put a fabric bow for the dress in the middle it was suppose to be a gold fondant bow plus added decor little mini balls around the dress I did not ask for ! But I ok it because I already order it and it was the day of the shower. No choice ! When we got back to open the box to display the cake the belly at the top of the cake was crushed in basically ruined I call bake shop to tell them . But the baker said we must have push the top of the box down or sat something on top . I explained no we did not we was very careful still blamed us . So I called two local bakeries was a major pain finally I got a bake shop to repair it. All my gas money back n forth plus time n the middle dole get ready for a party same day , I was charged of course to fix it by the bakery . I called Dolce vita back to explain the bakery that fixed the cake local said it was not our fault the box top was the wrong size. Too was to low so she built it up there was no issue . But dolce vita would not take any responsibility. For wrong box size at all. They still blame us how unprofessional is this bakery !!! They cheated me to save money eat on the cake in first place. Plus cost me stress n more money the employees were very rude n not responsible for there...

We were in charge of the dessert table for my niece's wedding being held in Strasburg (we live about an hour away from Lancaster) and had another bakery booked for several weeks before who cancelled two weeks before the wedding. We frantically searched the internet for another bakery. La Dolce was the first we called and they were amazing. So calm and kind saying it wouldn't be a problem to handle our very large order for 110 people for cookies and pastries. We ordered 10 pounds of cookies, 4 large trays of pastries and a large tray of cannolis per their suggestion of what we needed to have enough. When we picked up, they were very busy but the atmosphere wasn't rushed or dismissive, they dealt with each customer like they were lifelong customers. The trays looked beautiful and the cookies/pastries were absolutely delicious. The dessert table was enjoyed by all- everyone kept going back for more. I highly recommended La Dolce for any event large or small. I don't have any photos as we were busy with the wedding. We will...
