"I ordered a cheesecake three days in advance, and they literally called me on the same day the cake was supposed to be ready for pick up (today) to tell me they can’t fulfill my order because they don’t have the cheese to make it. What a joke! Can’t they just send someone to buy the cheese? Honestly, they should've made sure they had the ingredients the day before. Very unprofessional. They literally ruined all my plans—everything down the drain."
Update: My response to yours: I concur with you; let’s set the record straight with verifiable information! I appended a picture with a timestamp of when I placed the order, a picture of the day you called to cancel (which coincided with the day the cake was scheduled for completion), and a picture of the voicemail Nicole left me, along with a transcription, essentially echoing my initial review. You evidently prioritize your reputation to the extent that you are willing to articulate anything merely to present an admirable image. Indeed, in my previous review, I stated three days erroneously; it was two, though not the day prior as you alleged. It's intriguing how you assert that someone processed the order and upon discovering it, since it was, as per your assertion, "made the day prior," you deemed it necessary to cancel the order. I distinctly recall the individual who took my order confirming with the baker on the very day I placed the order. There was no proposal to have the cake ready the day following the initially agreed-upon pick-up date. While you did propose alternative accommodations such as a simple vanilla cake, such items are readily available elsewhere. Cancelling on the day the cake was supposed to be ready starkly illustrates a lack of dedication, internal communication, and a complete disregard for customer satisfaction. Moreover, by accusing me of falsehood despite my accurate information—I was mistaken by a single day—your account of events and timeline is inaccurate. If only you had applied the vigor you've demonstrated in addressing this review to rectify the situation with the cake, we wouldn't find ourselves in this predicament. I believe you should heed your own counsel, to quote: “Always remember to be courteous and empathetic towards those around you. You never know what challenges they may be facing.” I am perplexed as to why you directed such advice towards me, as I have never displayed discourtesy towards anyone. I am simply a dissatisfied customer whose plans were disrupted, and your response only exacerbates...

Read moreWe were in charge of the dessert table for my niece's wedding being held in Strasburg (we live about an hour away from Lancaster) and had another bakery booked for several weeks before who cancelled two weeks before the wedding. We frantically searched the internet for another bakery. La Dolce was the first we called and they were amazing. So calm and kind saying it wouldn't be a problem to handle our very large order for 110 people for cookies and pastries. We ordered 10 pounds of cookies, 4 large trays of pastries and a large tray of cannolis per their suggestion of what we needed to have enough. When we picked up, they were very busy but the atmosphere wasn't rushed or dismissive, they dealt with each customer like they were lifelong customers. The trays looked beautiful and the cookies/pastries were absolutely delicious. The dessert table was enjoyed by all- everyone kept going back for more. I highly recommended La Dolce for any event large or small. I don't have any photos as we were busy with the wedding. We will...
