Poppy Pizzeria — Restaurant in Lancaster

SERVICE WAS A "D"; FOOD, WAS BARELY A "C"!

Stopped by this location today @ 6:00pm during the block party on Lancaster Blvd. Initially the place was not crowded but a few minutes after we arrived and ordered the line was at the door.

We placed our to go order @ 6:06pm and sat at the table right near the cash register. Around 6:20pm I noticed that others who arrived well after us were already being served. So I walked up to the counter and asked to grab the canned soda while we wait for our order. As the cashier who took our order came back toward the casher area I asked for some ice and started to ask about our order since by them we had been there more than 30 minutes.

The cashier proceeded to yell that there was ice but she was busy and brushed both my son and I off and walked to the back. I never got a chance to ask about our order. (THE AFRICAN AMERICAN CASHIER WAS STANDING RIGHT THERE WHEN SHE YELLED AND LIED THAT SHE HAD CALLED OUR NAME).

15 minutes later as she brought out another order for someone who had recently arrived, and delivered what appeared to be pepper flakes for another table, I stopped her and asked about our order, she loudly insisted that she had called our name but we did not answer. That order that she brought out, she NEVER called their name, she looked around the room and went straight to the customer to deliver their food - MAYBE THEY ARE REGULARS and she recognized them!!!

THAT STATEMENT that the called our name WAS A BOLD FACE LIE - SHE NEVER CALLED OUR NAME IN THE MORE THAN 30 MINUTES WE WAITED FOR OUR ORDER WHILE SHE WALKED AROUND AND DELIVERED VARIOUS ITEMS TO OTHER CUSTOMERS.

We paid for our meal - just like everyone else - but got second class service. I am a local business owner A licensed real estate broker with multiple offices in the LA County area. I had thought this might be a good spot to have business lunch but after today's interaction --- This was our first and last time eating at this establishment...I am also telling family and friend not to eat here. The PIZZA HAD NO SAUCE, the cheese was very salty, the tiny pieces of fried ZUCCHNIN (I took the pics up close so you can see, the bag it was placed in was soaked oil) WAS VERY OILY, my SON TOSSED AWAY THE FRIES so that says a lot of the quality of the fries --- all in all, read the low rated reviews --- they are correct in how they rated this location!!! Poor quality food!

Went yesterday first time and have to say after reading reviews and a friend telling us it was good it was not. Honest review 2 stars We got the salad meatballs with marinara garlic bread and a Philly steak pizza Pizza was good and so was garlic bread Salad lacked flavor and was drenched in olives But the meatballs with marinara 🤮 drenched in salt like someone dropped the bottle of salt into it As far as service it's almost non existent you order at the counter and pay than food is brought out to u we asked for warm marinara sauce as what they gave us was ice cold never received after we was finished you would think o hey let's check on the customer get them settled up Nope she just stood there behind the counter so I went up and got some boxes for the leftovers and told her the marinara with meatballs was super salty thinking they would make it right or fix it or something I meen for $8 for some meatballs not worth it Nope she just said ok I'll let him know and than just walked away never to return And y'all might be thinking maby she got busy nope it was us and a couple other guys that walked in super short orders nothing busy at all Won't be going back as yes the pizza was ok but have had better but the service just...

Recently visited this pizzeria. at the entrance we were greeted by a large, spacious hall with a loft-style interior. inside is a pleasant temperature, not cold and not hot, which is very remarkable, there are no areas where the air conditioner would blow, this one is not very pleasant. at the reception we made an order, french fries, pizza with seafood and iced tea. the wait for the pizza lasted about 6-7 minutes which is very fast. while there were about 5 companies in the hall waiting for pizza. a pleasant waiter answered all our questions with inspiration, it is clear that he himself loves pizza and his job. quite a lot of ingredients in the pizza, the potatoes are moderately fried, we enjoyed it a lot.
