----------- UPDATE-------- as of April 29, 2023 you would think that this location has improved but it turns out, they haven't at all. When we walked in and looked over the menu to decide what we wanted to eat and then finally got to the counter to order, my wife went first and when it was my turn the young lady proceeded to tell me what my wife had ordered and maybe i would like the the same thing. I pointed out to her that I would like something different because I don't decide or care what she eats and prefer to have something of my choice. We paid, got our drink cups and grab available condiments, but when we went to the ketchup dispenser there were no no containers , so I asked an employee if they had more and she looked at me and said it blew up last year so we just have packets. I then went to get my drink and noticed the handle was missing on the Tea dispenser and once again i got the explanation that it has been broken for awhile too!. The franchisee/ owners really need to get on the ball and really think about the satisfaction of each customer and not profit. When it comes down to the food, i have figured out that it's best to break out the grill of my own so I can enjoy a better burger. The burgers have a taste quality of a " house burger with the second hand bread store and the commodity cheese.." i always say that every place deserves a second chance and if it doesn't get any better, then just stop paying for the disappointment. I would like to start off by saying that I did like a couple of things, but what made me not like Freddy's were the burgers, fries, cleanliness of the dining area and most of all, the complete and utter ear shattering system for calling out numbers when your food is ready. On the side that was enjoyable were the custard sundaes, a little bit shy on the toppings but still an amazing sundae!. The second part was when they asked if we wanted to wait for our sundaes until we were done eating, that was cool.. On the other side of this review is the not so good part of the review " and this is my opinion, it's NOT saying to avoid the place." The Burger đ in my opinion was just too average and was pressed so deep into the flat top that the only thing I could taste was the seasoning covering it, and the French Fries were more like match sticks instead of shoestring!! I actually got the chance to compare them to another food chain located next door ( because my wife ordered from the place ), so I held them up just to give a real perspective on difference. When I saw the Fries they reminded me of a snack food that came in a can called ( potato sticks ), and if you remember them you'll understand.. last but not least, the intercom system is way over the top for the size of this place and you also have employees that exceed the recommended decibel level , that it will shake you to the core!!. Oh, one more thing. The counter where you pick up your order, the floor is a little slippery from food being dropped or other things being spilled in that general area. The floors had clear and present shoe prints throughout the entire dining room area. Would I recommend going here, sure. I just did not like the value of the food and...
Read moretFreddys is very conveniently located in the shopping center facing Charleston at the SE corner of Charleston and Decatur. Every time Iâve come here lately the staff is friendly, professional and has an excellent sense of urgency which is becoming harder to find lately. The food is great and my orders are always neatly packaged and ready to go....
Read moreThe rating of 1 star was not for the quality of the product we purchased, as the custard is delicious and we love it. It was from the customer service and conditions of the establishment. First off was an employee running in the store, practically climbing on the counter and ordering her own order on the register, clearly not in the clock, no mask on with a mask mandate in our state and talking so loud. Then we place our order, just 2 - 3 scoop waffle cones. In requested that we get 2 scoops of chocolate and 1 scoop vanilla for each cone. We paid and waited for our custard where I saw the lady worker with her mask down past her mouth scooping 2 scoops of vanilla and 1 chocolate on the top. I got her attention when she started the 2nd cone and let her know we asked for 2 chocolate and 1 vanilla. She insisted that she put a scoop of chocolate on the bottom of each, and she said I know you asked for more chocolate than vanilla, me knowing I saw different. When we are our cones there was only vanilla for the bottom 2 scoops. We brought it to the attention to the lady whom we placed the order. She went to the lady who scooped up the cones and she still insisted she did chocolate, where we showed it was vanilla. Then to find out the one who scooped it was the manager on duty. She said she would give us 1 scoop of chocolate, which my husband asked for 1 for each of us since we purchased 2 cones and she must have only given us a double scoop cone because only 1 vanilla and 1 chocolate scoop. She refused and we left and not sure we will return to this location with this type of attitude. We werenât looking for anything other than what we ordered and a place where they, the so called MANAGER and and staff follow state mandates on masks. If nothing else the entire staff needs to follow state mandates on masking and sanitizing tables. I still know Freddyâs has the best frozen custard, just need improvement with staff and...
