Mariscos Playa Escondida — Restaurant in Las Vegas

Being tired of Las Vegas buffets and overpriced restaurants, and longing for a good Mexican meal, my friend and I went to Mariscos, which we happened to find searching the Mexican food listings. It was a little hard to find - one can easily drive past the non-descript strip mall on Charleston and Maryland Parkway - but we were not disappointed. It's a small, family-run restaurant, just a few tables. Our dinners were so good that we came back the following night! The service was excellent! The servers really went out of their way!The portions were large, one main course is really enough for two. The ceviche is outstanding, great shrimp empanadas, mouth watering camarones in a garlic onion sauce, and their refried beans were oh-so-good! (And the corn tortillas are made in their kitchen). We tried several dishes - all excellent. The food could be ordered mild, medium hot or hot. My friend (from Australia) ordered medium, but that was a bit of the hot side for her, so if you're not used to eating spicy hot food, perhaps go for mild and add hot sauce to taste. I sure wish there would be a Mariscos here in West Hollywood - and in Sydney, Australia! Thank you, Mariscos, for the wonderful culinary...

Ok..so here goes the cliche...Straight hole-in-the wall 😎 If you are looking for esthetics and 4 star appeal..NOT here...

BUT...restaurants are about the food...and the food is GOOD!

Had three different dishes to give them a fair opportunity

2 out of three is not bad in my book 😎 Gave the 4 stars because the service was attentive and friendly 😊

Had a Mojarra Frita 🐟(Good 😊) nice size and well cooked - Also had Empanadas de Camaron 🦐(💣💣💣) total MUST TRY! Lastly, had Cucarachas (Fried Shrimp 🦐) Not roaches 😂 These were MEH tbh I've had way better but it's all good...maybe it was their off day for shrimp 🤷

So yeah, if you're brave enough to venture away from the strip and can handle the rough neighborhood you're bound to enjoy this spot 😊

Price is a bit high relative to the food and amenities but it's Vegas...they import everything so...

When i first entered it was crowded so I'm excited, hostess stops me right there ask what did i need... So i ask for their shrimp empanadas... She explained the order comes in 3,6 or dozen... So i know my coworker had orded a combo with only 3 that's what i asked for... Of course i get the runaround..coworker (black female) me (black male) ... I've ordered before from this place during lunch and it excellent....not sure what changed so not certain if I'm going to recommend it to my friends and online followers @marvalous_promotions_ if anyone knows of another place that serves shrimp empanadas please let me know...
