TL;DR: The ice cream was good, but my first-time experience was underwhelming due to the lackluster customer service.
I came here without knowing much about the place—it looked interesting, so I figured I’d give it a try. I already have a few go-to ice cream spots, but I was hoping to add another to the list. I let the staff know it was my first time and asked how it worked and what flavors they had. While I was able to try a few samples, the employee didn’t seem too happy to help and wasn’t very informative about the flavors.
At places like this with unique or specialty flavors, it’s really helpful when staff can explain what makes them different or recommend customer favorites. This isn’t Baskin-Robbins where everything is familiar—these are small-batch or custom flavors that often need a little context. The lack of enthusiasm and guidance definitely took away from what could’ve been a great first visit.
The ice cream itself was good, but the overall vibe didn’t make me feel excited...
Read moreThe Good - Ice cream was sweet, creamy, and with interesting flavors. Good certainly, not amazing.
The Bad - The entryway IS the area for customers. There is no flow, you just need to dodge and turn your body as people need to pass by in order to pay.
My wafflecone wasn't filled up with ice cream. Only a single ball of ice cream was given for $7.
Therefore, as I was eating, the wafflecone broke. I was offered a cup, not a replacement wafflecone (which is an additional $1.50).
The waffle cone is thick, and sweet, but practically flavorless. Waffles cones aren't supposed to be simply larger sugar cones, good waffle cones have more complex flavors, vanilla, hint of cinnamon, etc. It's a premium offering, not just a larger size.
Bottom Line: At these prices, it's just not worth it.
Recommendation: Go to Handel's instead, you won't regret it and you'll easily get 2x more ice cream even with a small size (plus it's cheaper). Way more flavors, options, and they fill the cone 😋...
Read moreI'm well qualified to speak on the quality of ice cream. Allow me to establish a credential:
The simplest one is I originally come from a place with Braum's on every street corner. Braum's makes great ice cream! The reason it's great is because they artificially limit their distribution footprint: no sales greater than 300 miles from the ranch. Their self-owned dairy farm. Only a fool or ice cream hater will tell you it's anything less than great.
This place is better.
It's better than $20 single scoops in the finest restaurants. It's better than what you make at home. It's leaps and bounds superior to anything you can purchase from your grocer.
This location always has a line in the evenings, yep, even on Tuesday.... there is a reason for that.
Don't expect pedestrian flavors like standalone vanilla or strawberry. Expect to pay $5-10 per person.
They also have vegan options; one of which is one of my favorites.
Go. Keep going. Enjoy the best ice...
