We heard about the well known brunch in town and wanted to try it. We made a reservation for 2pm; upon arrival, it was packed. I got the ube french toast, and my partner got the eggs in purgatory - the french toast was excellent, and latter was pretty good. We also got the non-alcoholic ube drink, which blew us away.
I tried the seasonal strawberry espresso martini, but unfortunately there was nothing seasonal or strawberry about it. I'm not sure if it got rang in or read incorrectly, but the staff was kind about it and let me swap it for a different drink because I was very unimpressed. I settled on the house old fashioned, which was delicious and came with a beautiful rose ice cube.
The service was good, nothing to write home about. It started with a water service before our main waiter came by.
The main thing holding me back from a five star rating is the atmosphere, for a few reasons. First, the acoustics are horrific. The music is fine, top hipster-ish hits, widely palatable. The volume of the voices in the restaurants are too be expected, however, the combination plus I suppose the shape of the room made it incredibly difficult to hear anything, including our server. You are dining in one large rectangular room with an open ceiling.
Second, our table was the most unfortunate in the house and I would implore management to remove it as the summer season is upon us. We sat at a 2-top table near a door to the outside patio. Every time anyone came through the door, which was frequent between the diners and the servers, we were blasted with the 100 degree hot air, plus the items on our table blowing everywhere. Halfway through the meal, vegas wind kicked in and constantly blew the door open, blasting us while we were eating with hot stuffy wind. I honestly just expected a lot more but that alone made it very difficult to enjoy the best this place had to offer. I would hate to be there as we enter summer - signed, a local....
Read more5-Star Review for The Pepper Club at The English Hotel, Las Vegas
My recent visit to The Pepper Club, nestled inside the chic English Hotel in the vibrant Las Vegas Arts District, was nothing short of spectacular! Under the culinary direction of Chef Bruce Kalman, this restaurant delivers a Mediterranean-inspired dining experience that’s both bold and unforgettable.
The star of the show for me was the Watermelon Summer Salad—hands down the best I’ve ever had! It was a refreshing masterpiece, with perfectly ripe watermelon, crisp greens, and a harmonious balance of flavors that screamed summer. Each bite was a burst of freshness, making it an ideal dish to kick off the meal.
The Cacio e Pepe Pasta was equally incredible. Chef Kalman’s take on this classic Roman dish was executed flawlessly—silky, peppery, and cheesy in all the right ways. The pasta was cooked to perfection, and the simplicity of the ingredients shone through with bold, comforting flavors.
My friends raved about their dishes as well. The Chicken Parm with Vodka Sauce was a crowd-pleaser, featuring tender chicken, creamy burrata, and a vibrant vodka sauce that elevated the dish to new heights. They also enjoyed the non-alcoholic cocktails, which were thoughtfully crafted and bursting with flavor—perfect for those looking for a sophisticated, booze-free sip.
Beyond the food, The Pepper Club offers free parking, a rare gem in Las Vegas, making the experience even more seamless. The English Hotel itself is a boutique beauty, with a trendy, artsy vibe that complements the restaurant’s upscale yet approachable atmosphere. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who made us feel right at home.
If you’re looking for a memorable dining experience in a stylish setting, The Pepper Club is a must-visit. Chef Kalman’s menu, paired with the hotel’s charm, makes this spot a true standout. I’m already looking forward to...
Read moreCame to this place because my gf saw it on a Vegas instagram influencers page.
I ordered the chicken and waffles and my gf the taco belle. The bartender told my gf she might want to get something additionally cuz the tacos are very small, so she got the fruit platter.
When the food arrived we saw she wasn’t lying, the tacos on the Taco Belle were so small all 3 put together would probably equate to one taco, wild for $18 (off strip Vegas). Besides that her fruit plate was like something from a kids school lunch, 8 grapes, a quarter inch of banana and 2 strawberries with some blueberries for $8?! Again this isn’t close to the strip, like a 10 minute Uber.
Then the icing on the cake, I was eating my chicken and waffles. The edge I ate seemed to be good, nice and crispy. I take a bite towards the center and it feels weird in my mouth. I cut a piece off and look at it, still redish pink in the middle, as I inspect it more sure enough the chicken wasn’t cooked all the way through.
I returned that plate and the bartender apologized for that and asked if I wanted anything to replace it. Of course I had lost my appetite and declined.
They obviously took my meal off the ticket along with my gfs coffee (as I nice gesture I suppose).
Also was sitting at the bar and finished my water within the first couple minutes and was never offered a refill until after I paid my check 30-45 mins later.
I probably wouldn’t come back, seems very hyped up from instagram with the prices to match. If I’m spending this kind of money in Vegas I’m not going to also need an Uber to get there. Seems like it’s in the middle of nowhere, didn’t seem like the safest area either. Our Uber there said “are we sure this is it?”.
Again seems hyped off instagram and most people were ordering the French toast, which is their...
