La Cabaña Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Lavonia

We typically love this restaurant, however last night was a terrible experience! It was 8 pm on a Saturday night, the restaurantwas almost empty, party of 6 + Highchair were sat right away, great start!! But we were sat in the middle of everyone already eating, & we had kids, 1 being small, so it was embarrassing as you could tell we were disrupting every around us eating, while settling the kids down. We never received the large cheese dip we ordered, food finally came out after a long wait, but 1 persons entrée was missing & a side of rice. My husband's California burrito plate was swamped with a liquid refried bean mixture and it made every soggy on his plate. Service was ok, but he was ready to leave and watching soccer and rolling his silverware was the servers first priority. We had to walk over to him to ask for refills, Togo boxes and our check.

Really a 3.5 instead of 4 but that's not an option. I'm from Atlanta where there are a lot more options but up here this is the best around. It's not bad at all and rather enjoyable. Service is good and quick. They're never understaffed. Often times I think they're overstaffed! But that's not a bad thing for customers. I've had better chips but they're never stale. Cheese dip is good, you can get better but nowhere near here. I really like their ground beef. It's some of the best I've had anywhere. Long story short, if you're in the area don't bother driving half an hour away. This will be just fine at a good price with great friendly service.

EDIT: Been coming here a lot more this summer. Don't know if the food is better now or I've just gotten used to it but I liked this place even more now. Still not a 5 star, but it's a place...

We didn’t even make it past ordering our drinks since they all tasted like mold. I’m not sure if it’s an issue with the local water in Georgia or if the tea urns just aren’t being cleaned daily like they should be, but either way, it was disappointing. On top of that, the staff’s attitude was incredibly unwelcoming. We interacted with three different employees, and not one of them was polite let alone friendly. The person who brought us a high chair for our toddler, in particular, showed exactly what’s wrong with customer service these days. I mean full blown pissy attitude and full body language saying the same thing. Don’t work in customer service if you can’t do the bare minimum of being POLITE.
