I dined in to Beimer's staff was very friendly and interested in how I liked all the food and very attentive for a counter service restaurant. The place was very clean and had a pretty decent lunch crowd. I was recommended to get the 2 meat plate since it was my first time. I went with Ribs and Pulled Pork and was able to pick 2 sides. I went with Beans and Coleslaw. Everything was pretty great. They had 5 different variations of sauce and had some of the vinegar stuff for the Memphis and East Coast folks. The pulled pork was tender juice and great flavor! And came with a good portion. They put 3 decent ribs on the plate. The flavor was great and they did fall of the bone but the bite was slightly chewy not bad at all though just probably middle of the pro road for the KC area. The slaw is vinegar based but is still sweet and I was actually really impressed with it. The best slaw I have had in a while! The beans were definitely pit beans the sauce was a little thick for my liking but the flavor was spot on with that smokey taste with just a little bite to it. I think they even tossed a small burnt end into my portion of it. They were pretty good! All in all I got more than I really needed to eat on the 2 meat plate and a drink for about $17 and I would say it was worth it! This place is definitely worth a try when in the area!

This was not a bad experience, but a very underwhelming experience and I don’t think I’ll return unless every other barbecue place in Lawrence shut down. I tried this for the first time because I saw multiple people comment on a Facebook post that this spot has the best barbecue in Lawrence. I cannot agree with those statements. We got the brisket sandwich, turkey sandwich, sweet tots, and fries. Both the meats weren’t bad, but they were honestly dry and if I hadn’t had their barbecue sauce, I don’t think I would have eaten much of the meat. I saw many reviews about the portion sizes being great, but I strongly disagree with that sentiment. I’m EXTREMELY disappointed by the portion size of the sweet tots and do feel like we got ripped off on that item. I’m including a picture of what we got for the sweet tots, and it was seriously only like 10 tots- the flavor was great but I’m shocked that they gave you so little. Picture included of the tots- we literally hadn’t eaten any, that’s just all they gave. I will say their hot barbecue sauce is very good- it was the best part of the meal. I also appreciate that they have a drive thru, and service was fast through the drive thru. In my opinion, for $27, I don’t think this was a good value for the price paid. I prefer the other barbecue places in Lawrence over this one.

WOW! 5 stars for the fried green beans alone! Best side I ever ate at a bbq joint. Perfectly crisp & the batter was seasoned so well. They come with a side of creamy housemade ranch - so so good. You MUST get it! The bbq was also very good & I enjoyed my loaded baked potato topped with thin sliced brisket & turkey. The brisket was a tad bland but paired well with their original bbq sauce (a bit on the sweet side for me). The ribs were super tender & fell off the bone. Sausage was good too. I like how the 2 meats 2 sides meal is served with a bun so you can make your own sandwich. Service was friendly & helpful & loved the old school ambiance. We were looking for a bbq joint on the way to a KU basketball game & so glad we found this spot! Will definitely be back next time we’re in town.

This restaurant was excellent in terms of food quality; however, the employees are clearly gangsters. Upon walking in, I was asked by a man behind the counter if I wanted to "eat his meat." I found this lewd innuendo to be exceeding inappropriate and when I frowned in response, the man flashed a gang sign and turned away. I was informed by another staff member that he was going through initiation. I was curious, but I left the matter alone. As I ate ( the fries are to die for) I noticed the man looked very concerned. He was later called to the back of the store. Again, I ignored my piqued interest. I finished my meal and walked to nearby Centennial Park. I had nearly forgotten the incidents at the restaurant when I saw the individual who harassed me once again. This time he was cussing and gesticulating at a much smaller boy. I watched, enthralled and horrified, as the recipient allowed this abuse for nearly five minutes. He screamed in response, "I'm sorry, Justin! I'll deal with it, okay?" Justin, the man who was chewing out this boy, looked somewhat pacified. I heard him say with a malicious tone, "If you don't, we will find you. The Bloods do not allow this conduct. This is on me if you fail, and if I sink, I'm dragging you down to the murky depths with me." This man was clearly affiliated with some kind of gang and his behavior was daunting enough that I would not return to this esatablishment. Be careful, and enjoy this excellent cuisine at...

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD!!!!!! I stopped in on Thursday by chance. I was taking a friend back to the Lawrence Municipal Airport, to check on his helicopter so we decided to get a bite to eat. We were digging some BBQ and this place was the first bbq place that showed up on our Google maps seach.

I wasn't expecting much because the KC METRO has failed me in the BBQ zone and I'd given up hope for decent BBQ.

I didn't know what to order so the gorgeous girl at the register reccomend what she usually gets.... the two meat platter with one of the meats having to be the burnt ends.

My buddy and I got the platter. Together we got the brisket, burnt ends, pulled pork, baked beans, slaw and something else.

I tell you what.... the smoked meats are HEAVEN! Lord take me now!!! My favorite were the burnt ends. They were large succulent, moist, juicy, tender, melt in you mouth organisms with every bite. Paird with one of the many awesome variety of sauces.... I found my favorite BBQ spot!!!!

I knew this place was home when your surrounded by skilled employees that also "rub our meat everyday".

Thank you for given me a piece of burnt end heaven and restoring my faith in KS BBQ.

Must come here and you WILL try the burnt ends! You're welcome.

When you cash out, make sure you tell them Tom sent you.... you won't get anything...maybe a weird look and an "ooooookay?".

Can't wait to come back. ...
