First off, I believe it takes a lot these days for a fast food place to reach 5 stars. It's almost become an accepted sorrow that fast food is just bound to mess up your order, have a gross interior, or rude employees; I do not EXPECT these as standard but I'm not surprised to find places this way. It's for health, and the above reasons that I don't eat at fast food chains unless I'm in a pinch. The reason that I give Raising Cane's such a low rating is not for these reasons, but for reasons of principle. First and foremost---this is a chicken restaurant that offers only TWO sauces; three if you count ketchup, which I don't. So unless you like "Cane's Sauce" for which the description given to me was " a little tangy with a kick and goes good with chicken," or honey mustard, you're eating dry tenders or ketchup dipped. Of course I didn't find this out until I got to the order box in the drive through either. I settled on ketchup, and when I got my food I kept an open mind. Unfortunately, that did nothing for Raising Cane's. The "Texas toast" that came with my meal was basically a giant piece of a hotdog bun, and was barely toasted on one side and completely ignored on the other; literally bare. I'm not exaggerating people; it was basically a hotdog bun. The crinkle cut fries were limp, bland, and had about as much texture and flavor as you would expect from school lunch frozen fries. And the chicken? You guessed it---nothing to write home about.
None of this justifies spending almost 13 dollars on one of only around 5 meal options with the cheapest being just over 7. Maybe I'm crazy, but if I'm going to spend 11 dollars I'm going to some place where I know I'll get quality food and can cook it right---the grocery store. In a pinch? I'll settle for...
Read morePros: The building is rather clean and very accessible with the layout they have, so long as it's not packed, but it rarely is. So it's a great place too get decent food with a quieter atmosphere.
They have the best sauce!
Cons Ok, let's be honest here. They have litterally 4 combos on their menu, and everyone seems ok with it. 3 of the items, are litterally how many chicken fingers do you want, with the 4th being a sandwich. Even if it's all about the chicken fingers, there isnt even a spicy version or some kind of deviation.
The staff is semi decent. It's not that they are rude in anyway, but it's obvious they are only there for their paychecks. It's not exactly a happy conversation and half of them will pretend they didnt see or hear you. There is rarely alot of people in the building so I cant see an excuse here.
Overall Normally I would give three cons and three pros, but it's impossible here. I could right cons all day and back it with very few pros. Overall, I will say this; the food, for what it's worth isnt bad. I hate their advertising campaigns and market schemes but that's neither here nor there. McDonalds does the same things and nobody complains. But staff could be nicer and there could at least be a few more ways too make chicken fingers. Clean...
Read moreI have to change my opinion DRASTICALLY after working for this company. The food is amazing yes, but if you're thinking about working here I would highly advise against it. The manager that I worked under (Regina) was either so arrogant that she thought that whatever she said was the end all be all or she was so ignorant that she didn't know what she was doing was harming the store and it's employees. Multiple times I was yelled at in front of customers and was written up for something that was not my fault by an assistant manager who wasn't even there at the time and was forced by Regina to write me up. The worst however is when I was suffering through what I could only imagine was some sort of respiratory illness in December of 2019 to the point that I could barely catch my breath and had to sit down every hour and yet Regina forced me to come in. Great food, horrible management. I have however heard that she has since quit and moved to a...
