Daylight Donut — Restaurant in Lebanon

While passing through from Texas on my way to NE Missouri, I stopped in this morning to get a couple of the large jalapeño sausage rolls (my usual at any donut shop I go to). Theirs are AMAZING! Warm, soft, yet flaky roll with a plump, juicy sausage inside. Not sure what sausage they use, but perfect flavor and spice. The casing was stiff enough that it gave you a pleasurable pop while gently bitting down while breaking through the flaky layers. The meat-to-bread ratio was perfect. Seems like Texas donut shops have gone downhill using smaller sausages with larger rolls. Thank you Daylight Donut for your friendly service and incredible products. Recently, I was given a blueberry cake donut from here. It was amazing and made me come in myself to see what other things they had, besides the obvious donuts we all expect. Purchased three turnovers, (cherry and apple) brought them to work where sadly they were devoured before I could snap a picture. We were traveling up I44 and wanted a donut, so we Googled a shop close to us. Daylight showed up. It was an easy on-off from I44. We walked in at 11:30 AM and they still had a great selection. I was surprised to see that they had kolaches. I got the jalapeño cheese and sausage. It was great and delicious. We grabbed 2 different donuts (which were also fresh and delicious) and out the door.
