Mocatinas — Restaurant in Leesburg

I must express a huge disappointment that I just experienced with the owner of Mocatinas. From the moment I walked into the place when it first opened, I was the biggest fan of the beauty and special feeling of just being inside the building. Aside from the treats, the environment has always been so inviting from the staff to the decor. My family drives an hour each way from West Springfield, VA to enjoy Mocatinas. We plan weekend getaways around a Sunday morning coffee or macaroon. Today changed my perspective completely as I was just scolded and yelled at by the owner because unfortunately I expected to be a group of ten to participate in their Halloween event, but only my family of 3 were able to make it. The owner informed me that because my other 7 guests that cancelled on.me an hour before, were the reason the night for her business was quiet. And that as a business owner, my 7 missing guests were a big loss. I repeatedly apologized to her but evidently I have no control over another family not being able to join us as expected. The owner literally belittled me at the front door as I'm walking out from driving an hour to get there just for this event and after spending my money to buy her goods. I have a Mocatinas coffee mug that I use daily that I love but will now be tossed in the trash. She literally ruined my night, and caused my family to view her professionalism in a different light. Sadly, I will not return to her business. I understand that my 7 people cost her a loss in sales, but so does her bad attitude. How many times could I possibly apologize to her? But how many times did she have to scold me for this? I will never return to Mocatinas nor will I ever recommend this place to another person. A good attitude is way more impressive than...

I couldn't be happier with my experience at Mochatinas! I had been researching places within Northern Virginia that serve afternoon tea for my 40th birthday party and when I came across Mochatinas, I was in love. Everything was so beautiful, from their signature shade of pink all over to their delectable-looking treats, to their decor. I booked my party with them and they made it easy to coordinate. I loved that I didn't need many birthday decorations to make the room festive because it was already so beautifully appointed.

When I got there, my family received a warm welcome and we headed upstairs to the party after making tea selections. I also ordered an iced coffee that was fantastic. We decided to order charcuterie trays as party appetizers and I'm so glad that we did- they were so cute, adding bowls of chocolate to the cheeses and meats, and everything on the tray was high-quality and delicious.

Mouths dropped when the three-tier tea trays came out. I was surprised by how many items were served but even more surprised that EVERY single bite we all tasted was exquisite, and everything was as good as it looked! Included were croissants, warm savory tarts, scones, macarons I had preselected, and amazing desserts.

My party and I had such an wonderful time at Mochatinas that we ended up renting out extra time (which I'm grateful we were able to do!). Many guests commented throughout the party that we need to think of other reasons to throw a party there because everything was so perfect.

Mochatinas also has space available for afternoon tea (and other offerings) outside of using reserved party rooms. They also have a large selection of fun goods and candies. All in all, we can't wait...

Quaint & cute place. Pricey mid grade sweeeet treats but most kids taste buds aren't distinguished enough to know quality. lol. Found some of candies had Expired dates of January 1, 2022. Fun variety of candies for the party- Ice cream creations social with various candies. The colored malted milk balls in particular had an off taste - maybe the food coloring, dissapointing that is one of my favorite- I've tried custom chocolatier /specialty malt chocolate balls far superior so may be my refined taste buds. A fun place for parties though. Staff was not the best on communicating in response to questions 2-3 days for replies pre- party, however, they did provide all the agreed upon arrangements and services once shown to the party room and nook area. ** For anybody with with stair climbing challenges- the nook and party rooms are up 2 flights and the 1 bathroom is on lower level. There are 2 small tables avaliable at the main room entrance- be prepared for constant chill with opening/ closing of the door during chilly weather. Also, as this shop is facing the street and has only street access parking-1 disabled space, 3- 2hr max time spaces, you'll want to be prepared to walk some distance from available street parking or public parking lot or do the double park hazard light jam the street up move like...
