Review based on sandwich quality alone would definitely be 5 stars. (Madison Bumgarner on Dutch is best sandwich I've ever had.) Unfortunately the service needs some work. It's a new place and maybe it is just growing pains. I have been here 4 times now. First time was their first week at lunch time. I was the only one there and there were 3 or 4 employees. My sandwich took 15+ minutes to make somehow. Second time I went a few days later. I ordered, sat down to wait, and 5 minutes later the worker came to tell me they were out of steak and asked if I wanted something else. It then took 15 minutes from that point to get my order. Third time I went in the word had got out about the place. There was a line of people and a lobby full of people waiting. One guy we talked to had ordered online ahead and STILL had to wait in the store for 45 minutes for his order. Our order took almost an hour to come. A poor manager obviously not on shift came in and busted things out as best she could. They were not understaffed, but obviously undertrained. 2-3 employees kind of just stood around watching the others work not really knowing what to do. Fourth time I called ahead to order. I was told they can't take phone orders. Not wanting to wait for my food I went online and ordered a sandwich. I got there about 5 minutes after the expected time. The sandwich that was supposed to be hot was sitting in a bag on the counter next to the cash register. It was cold. I asked them to heat it up for me and they kindly did, but I had to wait another 5-10 minutes.
Hopefully they can figure out how to deliver a consistently good experience because the sandwiches are...
Read moreit's always fun trying to find something for lunch on a Sunday... in Utah... especially in Utah county. as I was scrolling through the limited options available, I just about hit the ceiling when I saw that they apparently opened an Ike's within 5 miles of my house. As Bay Area native and avid San Jose Sharks FINatic.. it didn't take long before I rushed out the door.
When I walked in and looked at the menu, all of the staples I had come to love were there but one: The Randy Hahn. "I'll be O.K" I thought. "I can settle for the Cain...I guess."
BUT THEN - an angel appeared behind the counter and whispered delightfully "Don't you worry, my love! We can make that for you!" Now mind you, I never expected in the slightest that going out for a sandwich could turn into a marriage proposal, but the thought seriously crossed my mind in the moment. Perhaps I've been in Utah a little too long? 🤷♂️ Needless to say, I tempered my emotions - this was only the "first date" - smiled, placed my order and grabbed the nearest table to patiently wait for my sandwich.
They were a little busy, probably 3 groups ahead of me, but they rolled through the orders like the sandwich making dieties they are and less than 5 minutes later I had my meal. It. was. GLORIOUS.
I only wish that my hunger hadn't overwhelmed me by that point, because I devoured that morsel too quickly. Ah well... just means I'll have to come back again, and again. Anything for...
Read moreI noticed this place open up and was curious to try it. I don't try new restaurants too often but made an exception to this one for no reason in particular. It's kind of annoying going into a gas station to get food but it was well worth it in the end. They do have a small place for you to eat too. They have a good selection of sandwiches to choose from and lots of options and customizations for your food. They're right next to a soda shop too so you can buy a cheap soda while waiting for your food. After paying for my sandwich, I had to wait a good ten minutes for it, and I was the only one there. It took them a long time, so order ahead if you're in a hurry. The customer service wasn't great and was the most negative thing about this place. One of the managers berated another employee while I was ordering and was a walking bad attitude. Another employee stared at me during my whole ten minute wait and made things really awkward. Customer service is something they could really improve on and is the only thing preventing me from giving them five stars. The sandwich I got, the 'Silicon Valley', was the greatest sandwich I ever had! Every bite put me in heaven. I'll swear by their sandwiches and I've been recommending this place...
