Man I tried this place around the time it opened originally and while the food was good, the service was just an unorganized nightmare. I tried it a second time and it seemed to get worse since they had no nuggets, tenders, sauces, half the sides, etc. reluctantly gave it one last try about a year ago and surprisingly, everything went smooth and I assumed this place might have turned it around
Boy was I wrong because this most recent time, I had issues with everything. First, I tried to order with the app online and use my $25 gift card. The order would not go through and kept freezing/erroring out on the app. No big deal, I'll just order at the restaurant itself.
Only when I go in, they again are missing 1/2 the items basically. No nuggets, missing 75% of the sauces, no cajun rice, no red beans and rice, no mac and cheese, and no mashed potatoes. On top of that, my gift card wouldn't work in the store itself as I was holding up the line as a result.
I called the number earlier in the day to verify the $ amount on the card, knowing it was not expired/invalid. I don't understand how Popeyes cant just type the card number in manually if the swiping machine isn't reading the card?! Plus, if I did order it online and it went through, half the stuff I ordered would have been unavailable without me knowing since this store is always always out of stock!!
The manager finally just charged me like 1/3 of my total order $ and let me keep the gift card out of frustration, which I do appreciate and the only reason this review is getting 2 rather than 1 star.
That being said, it's ALWAYS an issue ordering from this place, which sucks because I like Popeyes's a lot and this is the only one for miles and miles in this area. After this, I'd rather just drive an extra 25 minutes to Worcester for Chick Fil-a because the service there has always been fantastic and they will actually have the menu...
Read moreThis Popeye's location is horrible! If there were an option for zero stars I would choose it. I swear the four and five star ratings listed here are paid for or left by employees. I'm not sure if it is staff incompetence or Popeye's policy to never have food available, but every time I have gone to Popeye's for dinner, they have nothing but bone-in chicken available. This means that a chicken restaraunt has no tenders, no sandwiches, no seafood options (which I don't eat) and half the time out of most sides. When I have asked the staff on many occasions as to why they run out of food so often, I have received different responses, most with a very defensive attitude. I am told that the restaraunt had a high volume of customers so they ran out of food. I have been told that they have chicken tenders but they are frozen because they hadn't realized that they ran out. I have also been told that I am coming through the drive-thru too late at 8:00PM. Is this the proper way to run a business? Is this how we train employees to handle situations when asked why a chicken restaraunt runs out of chicken nightly? Is it okay to tell a paying customer that they are eating too late and shouldn't expect to have food available when the restaraunt closes at 10:00PM, two hours after you arrived? For the amount of food that Popeye's seems to make in a day, they should be closing at 6:00PM. This place is a complete waste of time and so are the employees. Get your chicken from some place else that actually makes enough to last throughout...
Read moreWent to the new Popeyes in Leominster yesterday for lunch. It was my first time I had ever tried their food. After watching all the YouTube reviews which mostly were very positive my expectations were very high. I wanted to take an early lunch so I went there at 11:00 AM only to find out they were having a delayed opening do to building maintenance keep in mind this is a brand new store had only been open four days. I returned around 12:30 PM and the place was jumping. I wanted to try the new Five dollar nation wide promotion for the Hot Honey chicken but they were not offering it. Got a three piece tender combo. It took about 20 minutes to get my order. When I opened the box I was a little disappointed that the tenders were smaller than what I had seen on YouTube but the camera must make them seem larger. There flavor was great and they were juicy, a little on the thin side. Their Cajun Fry's were very flavourful but on the cold side and the biscuit was very soft and buttery. They did charge me for the two sauces I got .25 cents each. I did check and this was a mistake. I'll rate the food 4 stars and the service 3 stars. The combo was over $9.00 a little on the high side but as a five dollar special it would of been a great value. Hopefully this location will eventually get on board with the National promotions that are on the companies Website. I will try them again but I think I will give them sometime to work out the kinks. All new restaurants must go through some...
