How to lose a customer in one visit. I went there on a Friday afternoon around 6-6:30pm. Due to the time and day, it was fairly busy. I was alone, but had no desire to sit at the bar. I finally get someone to help me, and she is borderline insistent that I sit at the bar. (I guess if you are alone, you are expected to sit at the bar) I had to be very clear that I wasn't interested in sitting at the bar, and that the empty booth behind her would be just fine. In an almost defeated tone of voice, she says "you can go claim it if you want" as if i had ruined her whole day.
I "claim" my booth, and proceed to wait. And wait. And wait. I had enough time to read the entire menu twice, and go play on Facebook for a little while. After about 10 minutes of servers walking past me, I was JUST about to walk out and go elsewhere, when finally someone came to take my drink order. Seeing the way things are going, I decide to order my drink and my fajitas at the same time, or it could be a month before she gets back to me. After placing my order, it takes 10 minutes to get my coke. Keep in mind, I'm sitting in a booth for 20 minutes, just to get a coke. The wait continues, and continues and finally she brings out my fajitas. She doesn't say much, just puts it on my table and walks away to take the order on the 4 top in front of me. None the less, I just want to eat and be done with the whole thing. Just as i want to do that, I realize that there isn't any sinverware on the table. I'm certainly not going to eat with my fingers. A couple minutes go by, and I flag her down (because checking to make sure everything is okay, is lost at this place) and proceed to ask for silverware. Finally, I can get into my food and eat. Only problem... Its luke warm. Not only is it luke warm, there are 2 pounds of onions on the skillet. I asked for no beans, and to make up for the bowl not being on the skillet, they just added a ton of onions to make the skillet look less empty. Now.. My food is barely warm. The rice is cold. There are parts of my steak that have dried out. It looks exactly like a plate that was prepared, then left in a window for 15 minutes. Wouldn't the fact that there was zero sizzle in the skillet, tip you off that the food may not be hot? But I guess sending out the best plate isn't a priority for chili's. At this point, I had so much time invested, that I didn't bother to send it back. I just wanted to eat and leave. But why stop there? Right before I left, I asked for chips and queso to take back to my hotel for someone else. The waitress acted like I was an inconvenience for her. That adding something to go was just too much work for her. It was VERY frustrating to have someone act that way, especially in a restaurant. She brings back my chips and queso, and it is literally a cardboard cup with a lid, full of queso, and the ORIGINAL bag the chips came in, but only half full. No "to go" carry bag. Just two items, and carry them on your own.
Now, that was enough for me. #1) 1 customer alone, or a group of 12... You dont treat them any different, and you accommodate their wishes. Especially when it comes to seating. #2) People should be greeted immediately after they sit down. With a smile. With an upbeat personality that let's the customer know they are welcome. #3) If you hate your job, go work somewhere else. Don't make MY experience miserable. #4) Never should someone sit down and there not be silverware on the table. #5) Never never never never send out sub par food. That's what will make or break an experience. If it's not right, make it right. If it's cold, remake it. If you even SLIGHTLY burn something, remake it. It need to be right the first time. #6) Be accommodating. Take care of the customer. Go above and beyond.
Chili's failed in EVERY aspect during my visit. From start to finish, it was a bad experience, and enough to keep me from coming back. There are far too many comparable establishments in the area that do a great job of serving me, to keep going to one that clearly...
Read moreWell the last time I went here it was really good, that being said in celebrating a part of my life with my girlfriend and daughter we decided to go to here to eat because last time we came it was great It was a Friday at 330 the place was dead we where seated at a 6 person table behind another party where I couldn't sit comfortably or we would have been too close for comfort and mind you its me my girl and my daughter 3 people at a 6 person table ...okay, the moment we sat down I felt very off like the environment was very awkward the server was nice but said he and another man would wait on us, two people on a dead restaurant and only 3 people again very strange, the lady at the door who greated us was insanely staring at us which only added to the "get the hell out of here" feeling I had and I asked my girlfriend if she felt the same, she agreed and it wasn't just me, we decided to stay and eat I ordered the double cheese burger lunch meal with clam chowder and I got cheese quesadillas for my daughter my girl got chicken fajitas and clam chowder
Now here's the best part, while waiting for our food we decided to play life on that strange tablet on the table which was the only game that worked mind you and the table in front of us the waiter went to the table giving them the food they ordered and he said the cook accidental burnt this gentlemens onion rings and they'll be out in a second, no big deal I guess accidents happen But when we got our soup we asked to have my daughter food out first which didn't happen and the clam chowder had cold spots, when our food came out it was poorly presented My daughters food was burnt and rock hard her fries over salted My burger was Burnt black and the cheese wasn't even melted They brang my fries in a separate plate and it was an all around nightmare for the fajitas, my daughter is 2 and touches everything this waiter put the serving pan that's super hot right in her reach and took off to get only 3 flat bread things for my girls food not a single food item tasted good not even a frenchfrie, I honestly was and still am afraid that i or either one of us where going to get food poisoning it was that bad If it wasn't illegal to just get up and leave for a bad meal and horrible experience and not pay I would, I forced myself to eat my burger my daughter didn't eat a thing The best part of my trip to here was throwing my food into the trash can on the way out the front door, I won't eat here again, absolutely the...
Read moreIt was my first time ordering curb side to go and it will be my last. I ordered on the app and pain for it on the app. After paying for my food on the app it sent me a text and told me to reply with “Here” when we got there. We parked in the designated parking spot for curb side to go. I text “here” and I waited 20 min and no one came to the car with our food. So I went inside and waited at the pick up station for almost 10 min for an associate. So I called the restaurant and asked the person on the phone if they can please send someone over. The lady came out and asked me if I text the app and I replied yes, but either way the app asked the color and make of my car, don’t you think that you would at least check the three designated parking spots to see if I was even here. She responded with we are very busy tonight and said it will be ready soon and walked away. So I went back in my car, because again I ordered curb side to go and they should still bring it to me in my car. I saw the bag of food placed on the counter and waited 5 min to see if anyone was going to bring it to me. So I went back inside and waited for someone to come to the counter. A server got the bag and attempted to walk to the door and I said there’s no need I’m right here. He responded and asked did you text the app. I replied YES. He laughed and I asked him to get me the manager. The manager came and I explained everything that occurred. He did apologize. I stressed the point about the three designated parking spots for curb side to go, and the fact that it asked for the color and make of my car. I told him that I had a mean to get my money back. He asked me if I wanted the food and I said of course. So he gave me $40 gift card and a free dessert. Not to mention that our food was cold and my steak was rare and I asked for medium rare. This was the worst birthday dinner ever. Will not be going back to...
