Subway — Restaurant in Lincoln

Honestly one of the worst places I have ever eaten in my whole life. The service was mediocre at best. The two young men behind the counter were incredibly slow and it took almost 10 minutes to get 2 meatball subs. The food prep area was repulsive. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. There was meat and vegetables all over the place, and I am not exaggerating when I say that. It was everywhere. On the counters in the other containers. There seemed to be very little thought going into the food conditions. It was barely stocked, and completely out of Italian herb and cheese bread. There were hardly any sodas or drinks in the cooler. The worst part however, is the food itself. My boyfriend and I got 2 meat ball subs. The first one, I watched them make, being so skeptical I was ready to leave. He opened the meatballs and stirred them around, they looked almost a week old. He closed it back up and usedd the same spoon to stir the container next to it, and used fresher looking meatballs. The phone rang, he answered it and the other person took over. Everything seemed to be going ok. Then he came to make my sandwich. And he took the spoon out if the new fresher meatballs and stuck it back into the old ones and used then to make my sandwich. And they tasted like they looked. Almost a week old. Not impressed. I was absolutely disgusted by this place. Everything was filthy and clearly not taken care of. One young staff member was making our sandwich while an older woman behind the counter kept shouting the word tomato over and over again. She then said she was learning German, as if that explained the disruption. Meanwhile, two other employees came up from the back after handling food with a cigarette in one of their mouths. They looked at me and my husband, said “whoops,” and went right back without a second thought. The counter was covered in leftover food from earlier orders and not one of the four employees bothered to clean a single thing. Not the counters not the tables not even the floor. Stopped in for the $5 footling subs when you buy 2. The place was not clean and work area was messy with food. We ordered 2 footlongs. The owner/manager prepared our sandwiches and rung us up with a $19 total. We told her they were advertised everywhere for $5 each when you buy 2. She said oh, you have to do that online. The following is from Subway website;

"For a limited time, head on over to Subway where you can score ANY Footlong Sub for only $5 when you buy two or more! Such a great deal for lunch! Note if you're ordering online or through the app, there is no promo code needed and you must add increments of two subs at a time for the discounts to apply."
