Very, very disappointed. The waitress suggested the shrimp Creole and so we ordered it. Only to be told it will take at least 15 minutes to make? So we ordered something else. We ordered a Greek omelet with eggwhites and home fries with onions and peppers but got a regular omelet with hash browns and no onions or peppers. She also forgot our drinks and served another table that came after us first? We accepted everything the way it was, but the real kicker was, no apologies for anything. The owners/cooks from the back seemed to favor the only other table sitting in the restaurant and showered them attention and conversations, but we were completely ignored. Even as we left, they couldn't even look up at us and thank us for coming. They just continued talking with their favorite table. I found them very rude and ungrateful. Also, the food was mediocre and overpriced. I cant believe we wasted our time and money when the Lincoln diner was just seconds away where the food is great and they appreciate your business! We...
Read moreWhat an unexpected gem! The Grateful Skier is one of those rare finds that blends genuine Texas charm with a delicious, creative menu.
I started with the Jalapeño Corn Chowder, a hearty, creamy soup loaded with sweet corn, fire-roasted jalapeños, potatoes, and spices. The kicker? It came with the cutest little grilled cheese sandwich bites for dipping. Spicy, comforting, and absolutely unforgettable.
Our table sampled a variety of dishes: the Italian Hoagie Panini (packed with flavor and generous portions), and the Frito Pie—so good that one of our group ordered it a second time! My wife went lighter with a salad topped with chicken, and even that was a standout—fresh, generously sized, and satisfying.
We also had the pleasure of meeting Mary, the owner, who welcomed us warmly and shared some insider tips on menu favorites. That personal touch made the experience even more special.
If you’re in downtown Lincoln, do yourself a favor—don’t miss this treat! A perfect mix of comfort food, local character, and heartfelt...
Read moreI’ve never written a review before, but this was a rough experience and start to the day. Took forever to get waited on, as did getting our food. When we finally got the food, which was simple two dish order, the waitress asked if we wanted ketchup and hot sauce, to which we replied “Yes, please.” — She never returned with ketchup or hot sauce, to ask how to meal was (which was mediocre at best, but had somewhat nice plating) or to even offer a refill of waters. We ordered the brisket Benedict, which was pretty flavorless. Had higher hopes from all of the glowing reviews and images people posted on other reviews. Maybe they were understaffed, but there wasn’t really any great excuse for the awful service. Our waitress was even confused as to what I ordered when I went to pay, since I had to find her to do so. Wish I could say I was “Grateful”, but the only thing I was Grateful for was getting to my car to drink my...
