I've been going to EJ's for on and off for several years. The food has always been good, and I've never had any issues with the staff. I wasn't aware of ownership changes that have been mentioned in recent reviews, but the only differences I have seen would be changes in the menu offerings. The food has stayed consistently good.
My most recent visits I had the "Motherclucker" which was pretty good, was a relatively large chicken breast, with very good spicy sauce on it (recommend with the sauce). My only real problem was that the chicken seemed overcooked/chewy and fell out of the breading halfway through eating - not a showstopper as this happens at lots of places and may have been inconsistent with how it might normally come (I was with someone who had the same thing and they didn't have this issue). It's still a tasty sandwich. Alternatively the chicken strips with the fire/hot sauce are also very good.
The next time I went I got the "King of the Dill" burger, which has fried pickles on it. This was a really good burger and I'll certainly be getting it again.
I do plan on going back and getting other things whenever I'm working in the area. I would recommend trying it out, and going to one of their event nights if you can. That probably improves the atmosphere as usually when I am there they aren't at their busy time.
This would be obvious from street view but parking is mostly street parking with meters. Usually in and out within 30 minutes if...
Read moreWe arrived for Sunday Brunch and were excited to try the things from the menu we saw on Google. When we got there, I went to use the restroom and was told only 1 worked and if it was locked I could go next door to the Mexican restaurant. That was awkward but there were no other options. For the record, the restrooms stayed locked the whole time we were there and the people next door did not seem excited about me going over there. Upon returning to order, the menu was NOTHING like is shown on Google and we were told it's because "it costs money to change the menu on Google." I came for a variety of Eggs Benedict and ended up with a breakfast burrito. I tried to order a drink from their drink menu and was told they didn't have the stuff to make it. I heard her tell other people they couldn't make certain items on the menu because they didn't have the supplies. My husband's, as well as a gentleman's at another tables, biscuits and gravy came out cold and my husband stated "I cant even tell what that gravy is" so that was removed from our bill and he at half of my breakfast burrito which was hot and okay. It was just an all around weird experience in a place that seems like they desperately need the help of Restaurant Impossible if they are going to make it much longer. Go for the message of acceptance but I dont recommend staying...
Read moreCame in from GA and was reccomended to this place. Went in and was told to sit anywhere. Sat down and table looked a little dirty so we wiped it with a wet wipe. 🤢The table was filthy. We asked the waitress to wipe the table, but she insisted the table was not dirty but stained. We ordered our food and waited 30 minutes for it to come out( mind you it's a slow lunch hour) While waiting we asked someone who was cleaning tables to clean ours. She too insisted the table was clean. When I told her it wasnt she got an attitude, knocked our menu off the table, and sprayed every where. (Everywhere means, me, my drink, EVERYTHING)Food came out and it was COLD!! My cheese looked like it had been sitting for too long.I asked for the manager and guess who it was... the rude person that didn't want to wipe our table. Not one time did she apologize for the inconvenience but instead asked me what did I want her to do as if I was inconveniencing her😒 If I could give no stars I would! There is no way yall are hyping this restaurant up like this. Its TRASH!! My family and I were completely disrespected. All the melanin less people were greeted with smiles while the melanin were degraded....
