I've been going to Ned's for quite some time now and have always recommended it in the past to grab drinks with friends. Unfortunately as of late my recommendations will cease as well as my patronage. I stick to beer and bourbon and the staff know this before I order. I was overcharged one night after having to leave my phone and wallet due to insufficient funds in my account. No problem, things happen. When I returned the next day to pay up, my normal $10-20 bill has increased to $70 and had drinks I would never order (green teas?). I paid it and decided to speak to the night staff later, since I consider them Damn near friends. When brought up it was basically ignored and never even mentioned or fixed. A few weeks later I have to leave early on a tab and let the bartender know. ok , I return a couple weeks later AND AM COMPLETELY IGNORED AND DENIED SERVICE OVER A $12 TAB?? You guys know I'm a great customer abd have even helped our a time or two. Embarrassed in front of friends I brought in ( Oh, it's a great place! Cool staff, cheap prices, they make you feel comfortable!!) after I told them how cool it was, I will not be returning nor will I be recommending it anymore. Maybe the new night manager doesn't like me, maybe the staff doesn't want regulars in anymore, maybe they'll contact me and I can put in a new review. Until then, I'll go to OTT. So, if loyalty doesn't matter to you and you don't mind being made to look like a dickhead in spite of years of patronage, the mostly new staff and management at Ned Kelly's is the place for you and you're hipster douchebag...
Read moreI really wanted to like this bar but the staff is as friendly as a cactus . My friend and I were out on Thursday night. We decided to go to Ned Kelly's. Just before we walked in a police officer stopped and asked us where we were headed . We told him we were going to Ned Keys. After we walk in the bartender Shannon asked us if we had been drinking at the Tavern. We said yes we had. She proceeded to tell us wasn't going to serve us because we had been "drinking for free all night"- we had had 3 drinks each, but she never actually took the time to assess if we had been over served at a prior bar, she just assumed we were too drunk. As we are leaving we hear her loudly telling customers that we were just dumb girls from the tavern trying to flirt with the police. It is okay to refuse service to someone for any reason-every establishment has the right to do so. However talking trash about two people you profiled to your customers is just childish. I understand that there is a stigma around ladies night but I won't be returning or recommending this...
Read moreThis place was definitely fun but if you're trying to be a "special snowflake" and avoid pokemon hunters you better wise up or shut up. If you don't want to be around people talking about Pokémon, I suggest thinking ahead. There are two Pokestops right outside (awesome!) I've met some of the coolest people here pokemon hunting; it's sticking around and you need to deal. This bar has a great atmosphere for the 20ish to 30ish crowd. Karaoke, sports on tvs, outdoor patios, not too large and not too small. The only thing that irked me was if you stay on the outside smoking patio and request a waitress, the waitress that comes over "is her own entity" and won't take your card if you already have a tab open inside. A lazy way for them to make tips but whatever it was still fun. Met alot of cool people. They sell cigarettes so you don't have to wander around and risk getting into trouble if you want a smoke. Good...
