I posted a review about this location before, maybe a year or so ago, it was a low-star terrible review, because everything was always bad at this location, especially the service, so I stopped coming. I am writing a new review now because I went back on my lunch today, because I had forgotten to bring my lunch, and things seem to have changed for the better.
First, Mariah, who was working the drive-thru, is an absolute gem, she was so polite, sweet, professional, she had the Del Taco greeting down, she was perfect. I have never had a better fast food drive-thru worker that I can recall. I wish every employee I have or work with could take a page from her book. It seemed like all of her co-workers today (1/31/25 11:50am) were equally enthusiastic and hard-working and polite. In addition, they were actually fast! Before this, I would usually sit forever waiting for my food, even if there was just me or one other person in line. Today I barely had time to pay and my food was in my hands. Everything was well-made and fresh.
This is a HUGE change from the last few times I was here. She told me they are under new management, so I hope that is the reason, and that things will continue to improve from here. If so, I may have to 'forget' my lunch more often when I am on this side of town.
My only complaint is that they used to have plain, unsweetened iced tea, and now they do not. I need a no-sugar option, and while they do have lemonade and flavored tea, I would prefer an unflavored, unsweetened drink. It is really strange not to have unsweet iced tea, I don't think I have been many places that do not have it as an option. Also please spend time teaching your food assembly folks how to properly close the burritos so they do not spill out of the bottom, and I don't know if leaving the top of the wrapper open is del taco policy, but it is kind of gross to leave part of the burrito sticking out...so the dirty sauce packets, etc. are touching the actual food.
Thanks to Mariah and crew again for the excellent,...
Read moreThis was our first Del Taco experience, and we plan to go back someday. Although there were minor issues with the food, the employees were great! Therefore I didn't lower the rating.
Service: Top notch! I grew tired of some other places, with employees who act like we're an inconvenience to them. Rude etc. This was not the case here, they were great. Even the coupon on my phone, which wasn't wanting to take, he scanned it twice, asked to see it again to manually type it. When that didn't work, the manager apologized for it taking so long, said he took care of it. The guy working the window was really friendly. Couldn't have a better guy there. I wish I got his name.
Food: Theres a little more sliced, than say Taco Bell, but not over powering. I like tacos, but I can't handle real spicy foods. These weren't. Enough to said its mexican but, not enough to make me regret buying them. The food was good, the exception was the fries. We got 2 soft tacos (special order), 2 hard tacos, a burrito, 2 cheese quesadillas, 2 large fries, 2 large drinks. He made sure to point out which was diet, some don't mark them and we've been told just try them. So that was great. The special orders, spot on. Everything was good, the fries, some weren't quite done. Part of one, but the rest were fine. Although not really cold, they needed a minute or 2 more. I still enjoyed most of them. I do like the fries!
All in all, we'll go back. I hope other locations are as good as...
Read moreI recently visited this Del Taco location, and it was a truly appalling experience. Upon arriving, I was greeted with an overwhelming amount of litter scattered around the entrance, setting the tone for what was to come. As I stepped inside, a nauseating, foul odor immediately hit my senses—something I certainly did not expect from a food establishment. For comparison, the Del Taco in Clarkson offers an entirely different, far superior experience, which only highlighted how unacceptable this location is.
The cleanliness inside was equally horrendous. The floors were visibly filthy, and it was evident that no effort had been made to clean the tables or even the area beneath them. It felt as though there was no one properly overseeing the operations of this restaurant. Frankly, my teenage son's room—usually in a state of disarray—is far tidier than this place, which is saying a lot.
I also can't imagine the conditions of the kitchen. If the dining area is this neglected, I shudder to think of what the behind-the-scenes areas look like. This Del Taco is a health and hygiene disaster waiting to happen. It is clear this location is severely mismanaged and in desperate need of proper oversight.
I definitely do not recommend this Del Taco. It desperately needs real management to step in, clean up the environment, and restore some level of hygiene and professionalism. Until that happens, I would advise anyone to steer clear of this...
