Please refer to my additional experience of the issues at the pharmacy!!!!
After speaking with the female pharmacist, who was awesome! We then contacted corporate office to see about how the situation at the pharmacy could be Remedied. We were then passed around from person to person. Finally we got put with someone at the service desk & told that the manager was not there but would be in tomorrow IF WE REALLY NEEDED TO TALK TO THEM. This happened for many days in a row until we decided to give up, which I’m sure was the point but not worth the hassle with a baby on the way we had many other things to take care of!!!!
Pitiful customer service!!!!! Besides that, prescriptions are never filled when supposedly are ready,& takes forever either way. Besides all of those issues that took place, this location is almost always under stocked, messy & most of the employees are upset if you ask them to help you, have a question even with there own co-workers. Half of there printers(for coupons) are broke or unplugged & they get upset when you ask then send you to customer service when you ask for your Meijers cash you’re intitled to for purchases. I feel like no one here knows what’s going on & those who do, don’t want to deal with it. The managers need retraining on how to help their employees/coworkers. They get upset with them when they need help or are not sure how to handle a situation.
One time I went for a propane exchange. went through to the garden center trying to juggle my tank & child because there were no carts. I was told by the woman there she didn’t know anything about it, she just waters the plants, I think they do it inside. Got halfway through the store & saw another employee, asked him & he had know idea & said maybe the service desk or garden area. I told him the garden person said front desk. He said must be the service desk then. Went to the service desk. Waited & waited.
Finally get to the counter & the guy there was confused, saying he didn’t know anything about that & didn’t think they do that there(as in the whole store)!!! I told him I’m pretty sure you do, he said idk let me go see..... 3 people later, they figured out they do do it, but in the garden center & I would have to pay for it there bc they didn’t know how to ring it up. So I told him that’s were I came from & she said you guys do it. Luckily one employee knew how to handle the situation & that the code was in a book. SMH!!! But when he walked away the other employee tried to have me buy a whole new one, I had to keep telling him, no it’s an exchange not a whole new one. Finally the other employee came back & helped me make the purchase & grabbed me a cart for my now screaming child & heavy propane tank. only to have to go back to the garden center to explain to the employees back there what I was there for & where to get it (how to do their job, in all reality I should have gotten a paycheck, lol).
They then tried to charge me again!! Oh no that’s not happening! Finally a man came outta nowhere to help, gave me my exchange & I walked 30 ft back to my car. Something that should have taken maybe 5 mins was an hour adventure!!! My advice, know what you want, where it is, Ring yourself out & if you’re expecting coupons watch the others inline ahead of you to see which machines are working. You’ll be outta there much quicker, with less hassle.
Sadly this is why we are going all automated & no one has a job. they are given to machines & computers, bc people are not thankful to have the job they do. Employees are rude, don’t care, don’t know or don’t want to help & wonder why they can’t make more or...
Read moreI will never return to Meijer and I forbid my family to ever spend a cent there for the rest of our lives. I used to be a loyal Meijer shopper but I cant stand being followed by loss prevention or treated like a potential thief at the self check out. Every time I would go there some random man would just appear at the end of an isle and watch me, or I would witness said random man watching other shoppers- Ive actually been followed by a man with a bag of chips throughout the store, he checked out next to me then left the chips and went right back into the produce to follow someone else. This is incredibly disheartening for the average customer. You mean to tell me I bring my hard earned money here and you send your employees to follow me as if I don't shop here twice a week? After shopping here for years I was at my whits end.
The self check out is a whole other issue. Ive had workers watching me like a hawk as I check out and I just chalked it up to people being incredibly distrusting and I thought multiple times why am I shopping somewhere where the workers treat us this way?
Then I made a late night stop after work, my last Meijer trip ever. I had to use the self check out because thats the only option at night. As I scanned my items I moved too fast and the machine required assistance as it usually does. After being helped both of the late night workers who happen to be incredibly large people decided I was suspicious or disingenuous and BOTH of your employees stood directly behind me with their arms crossed watching closely. As if I'm going to steal the milk I just came to buy. I was so disgusted and uncomfortable with these rude people treating me as if I had done something wrong, looking quite stern. The entire check out experience was AWFUL and I actually had to ask them to back up when it was time to leave, even after they saw me pay! Their message was loud and clear that they were huge and intimidating and I was small and not to be trusted. SIMPLY BECAUSE IM SHOPPING THERE. I ended up trying to slither away, uncomfortable and ashamed as if I had done something wrong..I left the store and wrote a letter to the management immediately.
This review will fall on deaf ears and I know that my money won't make any impact, but I also know my mental health will have an incredible surge once I stop being treated like a thief for buying the household and grocery items my family needs. Kroger would never do that. Target would never do that. I've never had that experience at Walmart or Aldi. And I think it's time I valued myself more and spend money at a company who treats its customers...
Read moreIf you're familiar at all with this particular Meijer location, then you very well may be able to relate to some of what I say here. If you're not familiar with this location, then you might notice some of the things mentioned here if you decide to stop in.
First and foremost I want to say that this Meijer is almost always incredibly busy. It doesn't seem to matter what day, or even what time you stop in, you're almost always going to be hunting for a decent parking spot that is somewhat close to the door. That or you can just bite the bullet and park out further.
I continue to find myself here purely due to the simple fact that it is somewhat close in proximity to where I spend a majority of my time. Nearly every time I am here though, I end up wondering why I didn't just go out of my way to a different grocery store.
This might sound silly but I would almost go as far as to say that this particular Meijer location is like the "Walmart" of Meijer locations. The lines are almost always long (even after upgrading the self checkout area), the store is understaffed, they're always out of various products, the store is a mess half the time, and their produce is very, VERY hit or miss quality wise. I don't honestly know what the issue is here, and I haven't found this to be such an issue at other Meijer locations.
I believe that this is the only Meijer in the surrounding area (this and Westland), so if you live in Metro area, you're pretty much shopping at this location if you're a dedicated Meijer shopper and this being a very populated metro area means that way more than just you are on your way to the store.
When all is said and done, this specific Meijer location is often overcrowded, they're regularly out of stock of many things, the staff is mostly friendly and helpful (when you can find them), and the produce (especially the selection of greens) is often pretty terrible. If you're looking for a quick and reliable "in and out" trip to a Meijer, you're going to want to avoid...
