To say the least, my experience was less than pleasant, in addition to leaving my wife feeling very uncomfortable (and almost left without making our purchase). My wife and I planned to go into LUSH today (26DEC22) to make a purchase (see attached photo) and were greeted by some very aggressive and rude workers, after asking specifically if they had any after Christmas deals. They told us no and pointed us in the direction of what they had available that was on sale. We picked out our item and went to pay when another worker asked if we needed help with anything, to which I asked if they had any other deals going on at the time. She then replied in a very aggrieved manner/tone by telling us no, and that was all they had available. While we waited in line, a child (maybe 10-12 years old) politely asked a worker when they were going to have another soap demonstration. The worker replied very aggressively to the child, telling them no and that they would not have any more for the night repeatedly. It was time for us to check out finally, to which I asked the cashier if they had any upcoming sales or deals for the end of the month/year. She too replied in a very aggressive manner/tone stating "no, there will not be anymore, that is all we have and will ever have throughout the year. I should know since I decide what goes on sale and what doesn't. " My wife and I felt extremely rushed, uncomfortable, and, to an extent, verbally harassed. Every worker minus one at this store was rude and unnecessarily aggressive towards my wife and I. My wife loves their products, but this kind of behavior does not shine a good light on the business and...
Read moreDon't get me wrong. I have a long standing and very strong relationship with Lush. I adore this company, its ethical standards, and its quality. I think, however, I'm going to stick to online transactions when I'm in the United States. US Lush employees are some of the most overbearing and obnoxiously saccharine retail workers I have ever met. I really wish that the US Lush system would tone this way down.
The nearest Lush to me is in Park Meadows, about an hour and a half drive when traffic is good. On my second and last visit to this location I could not get the associate to leave me alone. After telling her that this was nowhere near my first Lush experience she kept badgering me to know what exactly I came in for. When I finally let her know my guy and I came in to get him a bath bomb she walked with me as I looked through several bath bombs, incorrectly listed many ingredients along way, and then DISCLOSED THE SURPRISES INSIDE. The occasional surprises in the Lush bombs are a dear element of the bombs that I enjoy so much. Within thirty seconds she managed to ruin three Lush bombs I hadn't tried yet, and had planned to eventually. I don't know if I can now.
I miss European standards of not ruining things for your customers and respecting their personal space. Not everyone wants a personal shopper up...
Read moreSmaller Lush store (Maui is twice as big) but they've really improved their stock. Many items that used to be catalog order are now here. Products are natural and responsibly sourced. No animal testing yay!! Initial cost a bit more but your creams are so dense they last for months.
Love their assistants! Always pleasant and knowledgeable. Ask for a hand massage with their hand creams when they aren't busy. Ask for samples if you aren't sure. Bring back any product with a receipt (time limit) and they give a no questions asked refund. Very consumer centric.
Return 5 empty containers and you get a free face mask (about $10!) It works out to about 10% of orig purchase prices. All sizes count (except sample containers) and I always return the empty free mask container. Consider this discount when you are making a purchase.
My shampoo bar is more sudsy than any shampoo and lasts 2 months (using it every other day) for $11. My color high/lowlights lasts a full 5 weeks using their cinnamon bar shampoo.
Soaps are pricey but last a long time when you buy a chunk. Never dries my skin. And smells heavenly.
Best bargain in the store is their Charity Pot body lotion. It's so dense, it lasts me six...
