SomiSomi — Restaurant in Long Beach

This is a great location for sweet lovers that also want a taste of cultural snacks! It's in a great location surrounded by sights and restaurants; it's the perfect place to stop and have dessert as a snack or to balance whatever meal you may have had at one of the eateries in the area. They have a great selection of ice cream flavors, the ice cream is always soft, and the variety of fillings and toppings for the taiyaki waffle and your ice cream tempts you to keep visiting to try all the flavor combinations They also have a variety of freshly made drinks to choose from! I am not sure if this is applicable to all SomiSomi locations as a result of the pandemic but it is a shame that despite the large, open space inside the establishment, there is no place to sit and eat, save for a bench outside. Of course, the bench can only seat a couple or small family and sit directly in the sun. This place right here is deceiving, they give you a small cup and a baked taiyaki. It looked like a small amount of ice cream, let me tell you more than half is inside the goldfish... Bro this place is the Bomb 💣! I have no idea what a more perfect word than Perfection for this tasty dessert. I mean it's not overly sweet, and it's not underwhelming, it's not on the border. I can't describe this, but it makes sense to me. Green Tea Macha Mixed with Ube and my wife had Oreo strawberry mix. Freaking perfection. The Taiyaki is stuffed with your Choice of stuffing, Nutella, Cheddar, Custard some other I cannot remember, just know the excitement is real and I just stole my Wife's ice cream.. this is definitely a place where you don't want to bring your kids because you'll want to take their ice cream. Cute little shop. Menu was different than what I was expecting. I got the tayaki with custard (that flavor was meh...) and one with Nutella which I recommend! My brother got the one with the cheese and he liked it. They have a good selection of toppings and combos to make it different each time. Next time I want to try the taro as I heard that was good. Not sure about the red bean??? But maybe worth a try. Parking is a little hard, we squeezed into a spot next to the ramen place next door. As we were leaving someone else was trying to get our spot.
