Have tried several times over past 3 years due to the hype. Definitely better than Safeway, and more consistent (no burnt pastries here) than other farmers market patisserie/bakeries, like midwife and baker, sky, etc. but not necessarily better. Food is always very subjective, but sometimes their croissants look and taste more like Costco. Other times they are crisp and light (see pics, I posted one of their good ones). The layers of the croissant are more viennoisserie, and not oily or greasy like some croissants can be. Plenty of almond cream on top and inside, but lacking in fresh almond flavor and aroma. More like a sweet pastry/custard cream than almond cream. Personal preference we just prefer a tighter diamond shape to this flat square style. The Verve coffee to the side is pretty great in the mornings. In Los Altos, this would be my first choice for coffee. And given that we don't love Satura style pastries, first choice for pastries only if we can't make it up to SF. Have repeatedly tried all 3 types of croissants, the monkey bread, kouign amann, etc. and the breads depending on how well risen and baked they are in any particular morning. Service is a bit spotty, with poorly trained staff who seem unhappy. One memorable morning, an employee even told my husband that he was mistaken, they don't make almond croissants and in the history of Manresa, almond croissants were never sold,...

Excited to have a "french" style bakery close to home. Always looking for the authentic baguette, but this ain't it. Despite all the fame, the "baguette" is a sour dough, super salty bread. The outside crust is a touch too on the burnt side then we'd prefer on this Sunday, but the inside is too gluteny (if there is such a word), in other words, too much gluten is used, bad american style flour is being used. Pumpkin cake is way way way too sweet and with unnecessary additional sugar on top. Paid for the rye ham and cheese croissant but got cheated as they "forgot" to give us the piece. The hazelnut chocolate croissant had too much filling once again made it too sweet and too dense. Disappointed. We like Jane better in SF, but they also don't have the...

iโ€™ve ordered here couple times now and tried few items to provide a real review.

in my opinion their bread are the only 5-start items, any kind of bread, baguette, levain loaf and whole wheat loaf, etc. the coffee is decent, but i havenโ€™t got an art latte just yet. my biggest disappointment is that they do not warm up anything, croissants, quiche, nothingโ€ฆ so it might be good as a to-go place, but if you want to enjoy a quick warm breakfast there, be aware it will be cold. i even put my fav croissant from maison alyzee side by side for research tasting purposes ๐Ÿ˜Š and hands down maison alyzee is much better

now i know i will only get bread here, itโ€™s really...

Hands down - 5 stars! The breads and pastries are amazing! As you bite into your croissant, you can see the many layers that went into it. It's crunchy and flaky. We always get their Levain bread and sometimes the baguette. You can get coffee as well. Aside from bread, you can get some Verve coffee grounds and even some Manresa shirts. Highly recommend this place for bread. One thing to note that even though they are open until 3pm, there are days when they sell out of everything that they will close early for the day.
