Arrived for dinner service ( it was afternoon and closer to 5 pm), but the pastry counter was still well stocked. Small space inside and it was packed, but we lucked out as lunch people left soon. We got the meatballs in Sunday gravy (fennel sausage in the sauce) and gnocchi (flavorful but a tad dense for me) plus three pizzas to share. The Calabrian chili honey and sausage pizza was delicious, not overly spicy nor sweet. The Rosa pizza was also quite tasty. We added pepperoni to both. Also got a white pie that had ricotta and mozzarella, we added white anchovies for a little kick. We brought home maybe a third of each pizza. All the sourdough crust are came out blistered from the hot oven, had a great chew and bite. A lot of pastries made fresh, I got the pecan sweet roll ( think of a croissant base with lots of pecans and a caramel bottom, maybe it should have been warmed to make the caramel soft), Kouguin Amman, and chocolate streaked cookies- this last one was wonderfully chewy plus hints of salt. Also a whole loaf of sourdough to go. Ended my meal with a honey lavender latte and a matcha on ice for the daughter. All the staff were very patient in serving the dinner crowd. Plus busy takeaway business this late afternoon. The barista was working solo but my brews came out in no more than a few minutes. Two gender neutral bathrooms , changing table in one of them. Street parking was not easy but we got a space after rounding about twice. Merchandise available with bags, t-shirts and fresh bread, wines, roast coffee. Outdoor seating available but...
Read moreThis was was just as amazing as the other Colossus bakeries we have been to in Long Beach and San Pedro except now they have dinner! First of all the location is awesome because it is right next to all the navy museum and the new walkway just across the street. Inside the restaurant it was filled with fresh baked bread, great pastries, and our breakfast oh my gosh amazing. I am bring my parent back here to try the breakfast sandwhich and potatoes hahaha. My toddler daughter had the omelette and she actually at the whole thing which surprised us because she doesn’t really love to eat solids yet. I just love it and I am happy San Pedro could attract such an amazing restaurant to the waterfront. I hope more restaurants will come and join them. Ambiance and service were on point and amazing as well. Overall well done!
P.S I would probably come back to study as well since the inside had nice lighting...
Read moreNot worth it at all. Totally overpriced. The staff consisted of a bunch of kids who could care less about working there. Literally waited for over ten minutes for a subpar iced matcha that took them 30 seconds to make. I won't go back here again. They used liquid concentrate to make my drink and I'm honestly annoyed that I tipped them. I highly recommend going to Sirens or Hojas up the street. Both are cheaper and use higher quality ingredients. Plus the service at Sirens and Hojas is great. They actually hired staff with personality and professionalism. The only point I'll give to Colossus is that it's a nice location. But $8 for an iced matcha that uses liquid concentrate and gross syrup is not worth it. Stay away and go to...
