Yellow Box - 4 pack w/ Boston Creme - 5⭐! Creme Brulee - 5⭐! Strawberry Milk Cream - 5⭐! Tiramisu - 5⭐!
I don't remember when I learned about Flour Premium Donut. It had been on my "saved" list for ages but like lots of other places, I hadn't found time to stop by until recently.
I am so glad I ventured over!
These are some incredible, high-quality donuts. I think Korea must love filled donuts because Flour Premium is not the first place in Koreatown I've been to that almost exclusively features cream filled donuts.
They sell the donuts individually or in a yellow box or a pink box. They all looked so good and I couldn't pick just one so I went with the yellow box, a 4 pack. There is also a beverage menu and lots of seating to sit and enjoy a coffee and a great donut. The color scheme is fun, pastel and creates a warm, welcoming environment.
Each donut was filled with flavor. My favorite was the strawberry cream but honestly, I would order all of them again. The different fillings are enticing and creative. The dough is chewy and fresh. The dough is more substantial (higher quality) than an average pink box style donut. They have a great balance of filling versus dough. Overall, just a great, premium donut experience.
They are located in a galleria style mall where there are multiple booths/vendors selling all kinds of things, not just food. The parking lot is large and even though it was full, I had no trouble finding parking. The staff was friendly and curious about why I was taking pictures. I explained I like to do food reviews and they shared with me that Flour Premium was preparing to expand to a larger store. I can't wait to see where they...
Read moreI must have died and gone to doughnut heaven. The donut texture is fluffy with a pleasant slight chew, and not oily or too sweet for the most part. Most were priced $4-5 each but I find it worth it for the quality of the ingredients.
Our favorites are the misugaru (roasted soybean) because it's mild and nutty and has a chewy filled mochi inside. The black sesame is also intensely nutty with a chewy mochi inside too. My wife loves the sweet potato cream the most because it has fresh sweet potato puree along with milk cream, and it's the Korean/Japanese sweet potato that's delightfully sweet and nutty.
Tiramisu had plenty of rich cocoa powder accompanying the tangy cream (probably cream cheese mixed in it?). The bitterness of the cocoa was the best together with the cream.
The strawberry milk cream had a small amount of strawberry pieces but the cream was so milky rich yet light at the same time. The blueberry one is the exact same except with a few blueberries so I slightly prefer the strawberry one.
Matcha creme brulee had strongly flavored matcha cream but I'm not too much of a fan of the sugar crust top. I might still try the regular creme brulee next time to compare the regular custard.
Our least favorite was the apple cinnamon because the icing was too sweet but the presentation was beautiful with the pieces of apple inside.
We saw quite a line build up after us at 10am so I'd come early since they open at 9am until they sell out! The parking lot is nice and big so it wasn't any trouble finding parking. The mall also has other interesting stalls like a kimbap and udon one if you need some savory to...
Read moreOh go here if you want to try Korean style donuts! They’re mostly filled with cream or custard but it’s not greasy nor overly sweet. Their creme brûlée series -they have matcha, custard, coffee, chocolate are crunchy on the outside and soft and cloud like on the inside. It’s a perfect treat. I used to order them during quarantine (they used to deliver) and send them to my clients. They all loved it. Some coffee shops sell their donuts but you would have to pay 30-40% more so I suggest you get them here.
I also take a box of 9 when I am invited to a friends house for a dinner. Also bought some for company events and I got great responses. Highly recommend it to anyone with a sweet tooth.
My favorites are blueberry cream, strawberry cream, misugaru (mochi inside, korean multigrain powder-sweetened) creme brûlée (plain), tiramisu.
Didn’t think bacon maple was special and the chocolate smores w/ teddy bear crackers were cute but were just okay. Would typically order it for families with kids but I find that most kids also prefer the other ones as well. The fluffy twist donut is also pretty standard and ordinary. Stick to the...
