I have been a customer of this place for many many years because of their famous pastrami sandwiches. I will not deny that most of the time they have good service but sometimes staffs are rude! Here’s what disappointing. Last week sometime, my aunt ordered hot pastrami on rye, and a bowl of soup to take. She specifically told whoever she spoke with on the phone to cut the sandwich in half with nothing on it, as we ALWAYS order, dine in or take out. She specifically indicated plain. It was an outside curb pickup. Since we’ve been a valued customer(s) of Langers, she trusted everything she ordered was fresh and in the bag! But guess what when she opened the bag she got so disappointed and frustrated to find out that she was given 2 halves LEFTOVER sandwiches!! Imagine, the other half was so little realty tiny and small portion, plain, and seemed like it was a reject from a previous order and the other half had mustard on it!! It was extremely OBVIOUS that my aunt was given LEFTOVERS from I assume previous orders! Soup was not filled to the top and no condiments, I.e., ketchup, mustard nor dill pickles were on the bag! Isn’t that so frustrating? Driving all the way from Burbank to downtown LA and spent almost $40 just to pickup leftovers from Langers, supposedly a very prestigious and famous restaurant? C’mon now! It’s so unbelievable that you can do horrible things to your customers! Why can’t you maintain a high standard to your customers? It’s a shame that you did this to us! You’re taking advantage of people who orders “to go” or take out and give them leftovers! Since it’s a curbside pickup, they have no time to check what’s inside the bags!! My aunt was a victim of this evil acts from Langers! Next time you guys out there Pls CHECK your orders/food before you leave bc there’s always a possibility that they will give you leftover sandwiches!!!! It’s unbelievable that LANGERS can fool customers!!!!...
Read moreLanger’s Deli is a culinary gem nestled in the heart of Los Angeles, and my recent visit left an indelible mark. From the moment I stepped in, the vintage charm of the establishment resonated with its rich history. The decor exudes a classic deli ambiance, creating a comfortable setting for a leisurely meal.
The menu, a testament to the deli’s legacy, is a delightful journey through traditional Jewish deli fare. I chose the renowned #19 pastrami sandwich, and it was nothing short of a gastronomic revelation. The pastrami, expertly cured and smoked, boasted a perfect balance of tenderness and robust flavor. The rye bread, a canvas for this culinary masterpiece, was freshly baked and provided a satisfying crunch.
Accompanying the sandwich, the coleslaw added a refreshing contrast, showcasing the chef’s commitment to harmonious flavors. The extensive menu caters to diverse tastes, offering a spectrum of deli classics prepared with precision and care.
What truly sets Langer’s apart is the exceptional service. The staff displayed a genuine passion for their craft, offering insights into the menu and ensuring every aspect of my dining experience was impeccable. It’s evident that customer satisfaction is paramount here.
While the prices may lean towards the higher end, the quality of ingredients and the overall experience justify the cost. Langer’s Deli is not merely a restaurant; it’s a cultural institution where culinary artistry meets a sense of tradition. If you’re seeking a gastronomic journey that transcends the ordinary, Langer’s is a destination...
Read moreI never heard of this place until I went, but apparently it is pretty popular. I went with my brother and his fiancé when they were in town visiting - they were the ones who recommended it.
Parking: As is the bane of living in LA, you have to pay for parking. Either street or find a lot.
Ambiance: I liked it. It felt like an old school diner/restaurant. Nothing out of the ordinary, but definitely warm and cozy.
Food: They are known for their pastrami sandwiches here, but have plenty of other dishes as well. Their menu is extensive and full of many iterations of pastrami sandwiches. I went with what the waitress recommended and got number 19 - pastrami with coleslaw on rye. The order comes with just the sandwich, no sides. The sandwich was hefty! I had half and saved the other half for a meal later on. The sandwich was nice and warm. The pastrami was still warm by the time I got it, juicy, and tender. The coleslaw added a nice temperature contrast. It was a pretty good sandwich!
Service: Service was quick and easy. Went in the morning and it wasn't busy. No complaints here.
Overall, I think this place is worth trying. The sandwiches were in the $20 range, so probably not a regular eat for most people. But I definitely recommend at least trying it. I would go back just to try another iteration of their...
