Update 3/2022 Post Covid Lockdown: This place is still a great place to eat even after not being able to go for a long time. Great food. Great staff. The cashier even remembered me after that long gap. Still one of my favorite restaurants in the Valley. Highly recommended! Previously: No exaggeration, this place is great. I've never been to a Hawaiian BBQ place outside of Hawaii itself. A friend suggested that we go here for lunch inside The Plant in Van Nuys. The menu is large with plenty of choices. They even serve Spam, the official meat of Hawaii. However, I didn't try it. My lunch was excellent. I had the pulled pork and chicken lunch plate. It came with rice, potato salad, steamed vegetables along with the 2 meat items. It was absolutely delicious and very filling from the generous portions. This is definitely a place I intend to eat at often. The service is good and the restaurant, although very busy, is kept very clean. I don’t like writing bad reviews but this staff on this branch gets on to my nerve. I order online 09/03 and pickup at this location before noon time. The lady in the pickup and cashier area is not nice and no customer service skills. I just ask nicely for more bbq sauce because she only put 1 sauce for each order (I order total of 4 full plates) and it’s not enough and the sauce container itself is not even full just 1/4 of sauce… what a joke 😲. She gave me extra 2 and when I ask for more she said I put a lot already in the plastic bag … really 4 with less sauce? In other branch the sauce is a self serving and you can get as much as you want. I recommend you just to go to other branch if you can.

I can eat here everyday if I could! I can't get enough of this place. The Beef BBQ plate with veggies and macaroni salad can't be beat! I always forget to take pictures because it's so delicious and I can't help myself! We just recently tried the Shrimp Appetizer. Perfect. It was so light and crispy. The veggies are always perfect and never underdone. The macaroni salad... I shouldn't have to say more. Great for our weekly work luncheons! I've been to other locations and do not get the food cooked the same way so I only visit this location! The ladies that work the registers here are sweeties, too. The same wonderful staff is always here every time we visit for company lunches so that's a good sign regarding management and it's been close to three years since I've been visiting for company lunches.
