Drove from Ventura County to Canoga Park red lobster to have dinner with my family. This is my third time here and my last I made a reservation to be prompt when I came in I was greeted and escorted to our table right away. The customer service was very friendly. Iāll give him 100% on that the waiter Greeted us With the smile and took our order right away we knew what we wanted plain and simple. She offered an appetizer. We agreed upon one who took about 45 minutes to get to us when we got our sampler I noticed that my crab legs were as if they have been in a microwave, I am from the coast. Iām very familiar with seafood and I know how to cook seafood very well. Iām not a chef but I could cook some shrimp and lobster well but I wanted to be pampered and I trust red lobster to my surprise when I took a bite out of my lobster tail it was raw that Chucky taste rapidly, I spit it out. My wife looked at me and asked me whatās wrong. I told her donāt eat it. Itās wrong right away. My stomach started turning and I was very disgusted. I donāt like to complain or anything for free. The waiter brought her Jasmine, which was very professional and greeted me with the good attitude I explain to her my concern she listened. She did not charge me for that lobster trio plate, but I feel I shouldnāt have paid for anything. Raw seafood is very serious and could potentially kill somebody. All I asked for is for them to be more careful in the future could potentially hurt somebody with the very sensitive stomach. I will not be coming to red lobster again on it and when it does, I might come back but hopefully they learn a very good lesson from this if you read this sure your food is well cooked , or you could end...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFor some strange reason, Google Maps displays the icon for this restaurant at the wrong location. I believe the address that is displayed is correct but the icon displays where there is a Union 76 gas station. The Red Lobster sits across the street (Van Owen Blvd) from the gas station.
As its name would suggest, Red Lobster is a seafood restaurant. It is a fairly large chain restaurant with locations across the United States so most people are probably familiar with it. They offer a wide variety of seafood dishes with some being unique to their chain. For the most part their seafood dishes are pretty good to good and a few of their own unique dishes are quite good. It is doubtful you are going to run across a bad dish as long as the chefs at that particular location are following Red Lobsters guide lines when preparing the dish. This is a large chain restaurant and every dish is tested, focus grouped and retested many times before it makes it to their menu. That is part of the problem with their dishes though. The creativity gets tested and focus grouped right out of the dish to ensure it fits across a wide range of palettes. The end result is a seafood dish that tastes okay but is lacking any real excitement or creativity. In other words, this is very SAFE seafood. While there is nothing wrong with being safe, there is something wrong with paying the prices they want for seafood dishes that are just hoo hum and sorta bland.
This location is clean and the servers are very friendly and professional. This is part of a large corporate chain though and I would suspect that all of their locations must toe the corporate line...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI don't appreciate Red Lobster's habit of refusing to seat my party where requested. This was the third time this has happened and at three different RL restaurants! Their explanation is "spreading out the customers so the wait staff has equal amount of tables..." I think it does more harm than good, starting off ones dining experience on a negative note.
The food on this visit was not up to par. I have been eating at Red Lobster across the country for 20+ years and I have always been impressed with the quality and freshness of their food...especially for a chain restaurant. This time not so much. I had the Surf and Turf (7 oz Maine tail w/9 oz Top Sirloin). Though not "bad" the Lobster tail did not look or taste really fresh. The steak was okay but overcooked. Baked potato and coleslaw were excellent.
Waitress was good...her support not so much. Asked a bus boy if he would please bring me some butter and got questioned about what I needed butter for. When I told him it was for my biscuits he argued that they are brushed with melted butter before serving, finally relenting and bringing me some butter.
Are you kidding me?! Are they really that broke that they have to skimp on a little butter when I'm spending $150 for two dinners and a tip (no alcohol)?!?!
Like I said, it all started when they refused to seat me at the requested table...or even in the same room where the requested table was...just to even out the diners for the wait staff.
I'll probably still eat at Red Lobster...just...
