I walked in to Bob’s Discount Furniture-West Hills and was greeted immediately by Dan. He was very knowledgeable about the items I was interested in and didn’t hard sell me. The Service Manager Erman was wonderful as well. The pieces I got will work well in my space and I appreciate the service and ease of purchase with these two gentlemen. I highly recommend this location for your home needs.
UPDATE: I'd like to give an update on this review. If I could change the rating based on the customer service (complete lack thereof) after my purchase, I would give Bob's a zero and report them to the BBB. I paid for the extra care service (DO NOT PURCHASE THEIR INSURANCE. THEY DO NOT HONOR IT AT ALL), and when I had an issue with the couch, they told me I was on my own. It was something mechanical that never properly worked, we did not abuse the furniture. They never followed up, never offered a solution, just sat on the phone trying to argue about how it was the manufacturer and the manufacturer said it was Bob's. I gave up trying to get my furniture repaired. They never honored any of the warranties.
Based on the HORRIBLE customer service, I will never EVER purchase from Bob's again. PLEASE, don't purchase from this company.
RESPONSE TO BOB'S: You throw words at this review like you're actually going to try to improve your customer service going forward yet make zero mention of actually honoring your service agreement with me (which is still valid - I have 3 years left on it). The couch was delivered broken; I purchased the extended warranty on top of the manufacturer's warranty and Bob's has done NOTHING to resolve the issue other than refer me to the manufacturer and lie about sending me parts to fix the couch. I went through several months of waiting for parts that were never ordered by you, yet I received no updates or call backs. I was told I should have called and asked instead of assuming Bob's would actually do what your rep said she/he would do. I phoned several times, over several months, and took up hours of time - all for you to submit the bogus response you posted on this review. Instead of using this review to 'train', how about stepping in and honoring your warranty? Either replace my couch or repair it, per your extended warranty. It really is...
Read moreToday I had a very upsetting experience at Bob’s Furniture at the West Hills/ Fallbrook location that I feel needs to be addressed. My friend and I, both 17, went into the store because my mom specifically asked me to look at some furniture for her. We were not wasting time, being loud, or causing any disruption. We were simply walking through the store and browsing as respectfully as any customer would.
Out of nowhere, a middle-aged employee quickly approached us, asked how old we were, and immediately told us we had to leave. We were confused because we had done nothing wrong, so we politely asked him to clarify. Instead of explaining any reason or policy, he simply repeated that we were not 18. When we asked again for clarification, he did not elaborate at all. He seemed unwilling to explain and instead began to raise his voice at us. This made the situation even more uncomfortable and upsetting.
I understand that some teenagers can unfortunately be disruptive or cause problems in a store. However, that was not the case here. We were genuinely there on an errand for my mom and were treating the store with respect. Afterward, I looked up Bob’s Furniture policies and could not find anything that states people under 18 are not allowed to enter the store and browse. If such a policy exists, it is not communicated clearly, and if it does not exist, then this situation was handled completely inappropriately.
Being spoken to in that way and forced to leave without any real explanation felt unfair, dismissive, and unnecessarily hostile. It was upsetting to be treated as if we were a problem simply because of our age. This experience left us with a very negative impression of Bob’s Furniture, and I truly hope that management takes a closer look at how situations like this are handled so that respectful customers, regardless of age, do not go through something similar in the future.
Unfortunately I did not see or get to ask his name because I was simply so surprised at this confrontation but am hoping to go back in with my...
Read moreWhat a great experience! My wife and I were in the market for a new bed... our initial visit we greeted Mr Clarence Williams... he was very cordial and friendly... he left an immediate impression... my wife and I went over to get a coffee and we went over to the bed center.. well Mr Williams was helping another customer and we were assisted by another gentlemen... we spoke to him about product and while we were looking at beds, he went to assist another customer. Which is no problem to me...so we caught back up with Mr. Williams and spoke to him and told him that we will definitely be back and he gave us his card. So I did some research and browsing online for deals in beds and finally We made decision to make our purchase with Bob’s... I was going to do my purchasing online, but because of the impression that Mr Williams made, I felt I needed to come in and make the purchase through him.. We went back and immediately went looking for him... he probably didn’t we remember us but we did him.. he was such a pleasure to deal with.. we had good conversation while we handling business.. he said he appreciated us returning and took care of us beyond good... I thanked him again and we shook hands... we never felt pressured by him whatsoever and I really appreciate that..almost felt like we were buying from a friend.. we will definitely be back to purchase in he future. We hope Clarence is there when we do... Thank you Bobs and Thank Clarence...
