Saffy’s Coffee & Tea is a cute lil hip corner coffee and pastry shop in East Hollywood. Its next door neighbor is Saffy’s restaurant/bar which owned the coffee shop.
It’s indoor and outdoor seats were very spacious and relaxing. I arrived on a sunny warm Wednesday to grab a drink and checkout this coffee shop. I perused their menu albeit not an extensive list. They have all the basic coffee and tea drinks as well as some pastries. Given it’s my first time at Saffy’s C&T, I decided to get a hot Latte ($7) and a Swedish Cardamom ($6) roll. Both were very satisfying. Latte was good and the SC roll was something out of this world. It’s soft, warm and vanilla flavored.
Staff were warm, assiduous and professional. Service was outstanding. Prices were highly expensive (excluding the additional 4.0 % health fee). Plenty of street parking. Atmosphere and vibe imbued by positive energy. Collectively, these variables make a good coffee shop.
Overall, I had a pleasant order experience and enjoyed my hot drink and pastry. I shall return. And I recommend you try this new...
Read moreGreat spot to sit out and have a morning pastry. It’s outdoor seating only but the area is covered with an awning and lots of plants, to help you feel a bit more secluded from the street. We went at 10am on a Tuesday and we’re able to find paid parking, but you might have to circle a bit later in the day or on the weekend.
The coffee is great but the pastries are the real star of the show. They heat up everything for you and you can tell it was made fresh in-house that day. I highly recommend the cardamom bun. It was fluffy and lightly sweet on the inside and had a crunchy sugar outside. The lime bar was very good as well.
Overall a great place to come hang out or catch up with a friend. If you’re looking to get work done, I would just caution that you have to be prepared to sit outside next to a decently busy street, so it might be a little distracting. But if you’re still up for it, they do have Wi-Fi. Definitely a somewhere to stop in the next time you’re in the...
Read moreI got a vanilla latte, potato curry turnover (I forgot what it was called exactly) and the oatmeal currant cookie. Honestly I just went for coffee and wanted to try some pastries when I saw them, but those are what truly blew me away. I'm talking Ratatouille food hallucination love 😅 Both were simply perfect (the cookie was dense and moist and I ate it in about 50 seconds) but the curry turnover was like a revalation. I was seriously suppressing laughter as I was eating it it was so good! I just haven't had a pastry like this in a while since i traveled to other other countries. This is a beautiful place to get a coffee but the pastry chef is just elevating it all to another level. The vanilla syrup in my latte was housemade, which I appreciated. I almost wasn't used to the flavor because I'm so used to getting the sugar vanilla syrup at most places. It was very pure...
